Woohoo can't wait for new version next week!

I've seen this too. It exists in version .77
At high resolutions (2560 x 1600) some parts of the user interface are quite small. In particular, the icons for your army units in the lower right are tiny. It would be useful to have "auto resolve no magic" buttons. Currently, I'm not using the two ways to auto resolve battles as it quickly wastes all of my mana.
Having minor factions building up a single city, draws focus away from the major factions. It would be neat if minor factions were an entire separate race. A city composed of an alien people who were stuck at a certain level of development.
Please steal major elements from MoM. After the coming long wait, I'll be happy if something like a MoM2 is delivered.
That list looks like months of work.
OP thanks for the thread. Especially for the screenshots. Been a very long time since I played MoM. I needed a reminder of how Elemental compares to that classic.
Is multi-player going to be available next week?
Fudge, I'll soon have an almost identical system put together and was hoping that 6GB would delay how soon out of memory occurs.
And now a 1.05 patch in an hour or so. Hopefully the AI will perform better. Not much point to singleplayer if its a cakewalk. And multiplayer won't be till next week or something.
You can shift select one by one each unit in your city you want to have in a group and then click outside the city to form the party there.
+ AI difficulty levels tweaked for more challenge at higher levels
Is the AI going to play better at higher levels or is it simply getting free resources?
So far I've run out of memory twice with version 1.0 and my first game. Takes about 40 turns.
Oh thats cool. Hadn't even realized you'd have a 64 bit version. Will 64 bit have any material differences vs. 32 bit? Larger maps is it?
Fun story. If you could get more attention to these writeups, might draw in new purchasers.
Looks much more polished! When does the pre-load start?
Hurray! Pre-load and early release!
Was wondering about this. After uninstalling through Impluse, still had lots of Elemental files in c:\programdata\stardock\elemental and C:\Users\(account name)\Documents\My Games
Lots of these changes sound neat. I don't the game design requiring you to have a spellbook and matching shard. Sure you could create your caster so that they have all of the elemental books but that takes a big chunk of your points. In the last beta, researching magic also gave me books I was missing. But you're looking at a large amount of research until you luck into the book that matches a shard you own. Seems too risky to count on winning via magic. Perhaps Beta 5 improve
Being able to easily switch at game load who is controlling an empire or kingdom is key for large games. This would allow the game to continue if your 10th person couldn't participate, you could switch them to AI control. If someone got a bad start or gets knocked out early, you could switch them to control what had been an AI.
I think part of why the battles aren't fun because of the limited unit movement. Smaller squares on the tactical map and your units being able to move more squares per turn would spice things up.
Oh, was wondering why I couldn't lower land next to my city. I'm stringing out my cities a great deal already to expand my area of influence to capture mines and other resources from adjacent empires. Guess I'll have to see if I can do the same to get a harbor built.
True, it would have been useful if stability of the betas HAD been much better. Hard to test much or get a feel for the game if your running out of memory after 30 turns.
"Generally speaking, beta 4 shouldn’t crash on you during the course of a game." The game won't run out of memory and crash any more?
4 to 5 attempts? I've had this problem too but didn't keep trying 5 times. I don't understand how a save game can sometimes load and sometimes not. Either the file is corrupted, not corrupted or something else is going on?
