However I would still prefer not to be "rewarded" with another champion as soon as I reach a certain amount of fame. Allow me to recruit new heroes whenever I want to spend some fame on it and give access to a wider choice.
Totally agree, this would be ideal. If you want to reach high levels, and wallow in XP, play a custom Altar build, and focus on the xp traits for your heroes and buil
Too bad. Maybe no traits should be used more than once over all the normal races? That would make each one unique.
This is what I've tried to do with my custom builds, but doing so tends to make some races weaker due to the disparity between some of the traits. Still have issues with the class choices made by AI sovereigns. Built a custom Yithril sov, with no
I love mods, but most gamers aren't modders. Comments concerning henchmen above aside, I'd love to see a greater degree of utility from the Workshop tools, a custom hero option would kick ass, add a lot to the game imo. Give Altar a fame boost to complement their XP boost instead of the henchmen ability, let everyone build henchmen, and increase their abilities to be just shy of pregenerated champions and sovereigns, or even on par. I think a lot of 4X gamers would
I see the hero you get at 800 fame is still level 1. I thought that had been fixed, but I guess not. Seems like it shouldn't reset to 1.
I got a level 7 at 800 fame, Liniad, in my current game. Note I am building henchemen, so the timing was likely delayed, and am playing on epic speed. Too bad for her my sovereign needed the Life school, bye Liniad. <
I like the idea of being able to adjust any/all settings for the scenario, but I also understand that it's likely meant to be a bit easier than the level of difficulty many experienced 4X gamers would initially choose.
My hope is that when designing units I'll eventually end up using all the options available and not discard some as inferior as I do now.
I've spent a lot of time designing, and playing with custom factions, sovereigns and units. In my experience, designing units to fit a specific role will see you doing just as you're suggesting, especially if you've developed a real "flavor" for the faction you&#
Play as a custom Altar based faction, henchmen are customisable heroes, and they don't leech XP. Try designing a commander, a life mage healer and a defender to lead your army groups, works quite well. You can max out the xp traits in your build, they'll level like wildfire.
3. Dont have these sorts of traits hide when upgraded. Show all 3 levels of shadow strike 1, 2 and 3 on the unit screen.
I think this would be the least confusing.

States that this tech allows you to build Weaponsmiths, which are not unlocked until Weapons of War.
The custom troops you designed were probably not selecting the auto-upgrade button when you designed them and so they will not upgrade to the next best available item.
Correct, I typically design troops to fill a specific role, so rarely use the auto upgrade button when designing.
+1; if I don't steal a spell trait from a new hero, he's heading back to the Homeland to grab some buddies.
I only use custom units, outside of the starting troops, so hadn't noticed this in my current game, just a few hours old. Checked the basic spearmen after un-hiding them, and they are indeed now crystaled up. This isn't occurring with my custom troops, 3 early game versions are all still wearing their basic leathers and soldiers gear as designed. I also built a dozen or so custom units for each of the AIs I play against, they all seem to be
My apologies, I did not advance the turn, just checked that the spell was castable. After rechecking, it's exactly as SBF shows, 2 units appear as Immobilised for 0 turns on the second turn, others show no status effect.
Just checked it in current game, seems to be fine.
Homage is a good thing, well done Derek.
Did she play Baldur's Gate series at least? That's one of the classic EPIC games
The only game she's ever played that wasn't tabletop was Ultima, way back when. She tends to like kibbitzing while I play some RPGs, but 4X stuff just isn't her bag.

New DL on my Steam page, could it be? Why yes, it has been released!
Check your foreign relations tab, under Govern. This will show you some basic factors in your relationship which you may be able to change, such as simply building more troops if they consider your military to be weak. Early game I create a completely crap unit, Peasants, by modifying the Explorer/Scout, keeping the Weakness trait, and stripping them down to nothing but a staff. You can crank them out quickly, and use them to garrison your towns and suicide against the tougher stac
Attacking no longer consumes all of a units movement
Thank you!!! Cannot wait to start a new game for this change alone.
I have never encountered a boat on a random map, thought they were only on the pre-mades.
Anyone else follow this? Some of my fellow SCAdians are on Team USA this year, wish I could have joined them.
AI Removed the Expansive AI trait from Procipinee and Karavox. Building that many pioneers isn't a good move with the new pop costs.
Good call. Does this mean the Expansive trait has been removed from the game, or can it still show up on Custom Sovereigns? I personally would like the ability to decide which traits my Custom Sovs have, afaik currently they seem to be randomly assigned?
