I cant repro any situation where flame wave doesnt do damage when it should. If someone can provide a save when they are having the issue I'd love to check it out. I didnt notice that if you get enough particles in the battle the flames wont be displayed, but even in those cases the damage is still done.
It only does this for lairs that dont have loot (like fire shrills). In general though I want to add loot to more lairs and then I will turn this off for that lair.
Im going to play with it at 50% chance to do triple damage and 50% chance to miss. BtW, I just noticed that the tooltip says it have a 50% to do double damage and a 50% chance to do damage to the attacker, which isnt correct. I've fixed that too.

the bonuc is only applied when combat starts. So if you are looking at their init outside of combat you wouldn't see the bonus.
Id love to get one of those reproducable saves to check it out.

You can fix this by deleting your "C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - Fallen Enchantress\Screens" directory. This will also be fixed by the next patch (mostly because we are automatically clearing your screens directory).
Thanks for posting all of this. One of the hardest things to see as a game designer that lives in the game is the little simple ease of use things we take for granted. (being able to watch players play in their uploaded youtube videos is a great help for this too). I'm taking notes on things we can do to improve.
Yeah, i dont do the patch system, but Im guessing it wont work from 0.76.
I'm wondering if you are accidently canceling the cast by right clicking the target. The next patch will provide a warning if you right click (which typically cancels the spell) to keep players from accidently doing it on ones with a casting time.
