I've noticed that my single heroes with armies level faster than groups of heroes. As I said, I haven't looked at numbers, but I believe the difference to be non-trivial. I've found that it's inefficient to have more than two heroes in a group, or the XP just bogs down to much. Does anyone know how the numbers work, offhand?

Indeed, shields started larger because armor wasn't very effective (especially on the limbs) and then generally got smaller and more useful as limb armor got better. Some interesting stuff you can learn on the Internet these days. Amazing times.
I don't think I've ever seen a red chest in the game. [e digicons]-_-[/e] Because it's two handed which means no shield, which means it needs to be decent. I rarely even consider a staff simply because I'd either rather have a sword and shield or a ranged weapon.
Thanks for the pictures! I've been researching this today, actually, as well. Maybe the model has it attached correctly and is simply standing "at rest"? Like Lord Xia, I now want to look again. I always thought it looked strange, though.
I've noticed that I get a lot of barely marginal loot. "vendor trash" as it were. I was thinking that the loot items from lairs probably needs a pass. Like all the various magic staves. 4 attack? Really?
I'm pretty sure they are strapped to your arm so the point is down. I've always seen them used that way. Meaning the flat top is parallel with your forearm.
I think that hero equipment needs a buff from what normal foot soliders are equipped with. It's supposed to be hero gear, so you'd think that they'd get masterwork version of things. Or simply have those available as well. Breaking out the different stuff into tabs in the shop sure would help, too.
Yeah, I notice this when an AI player will go from 37 to 589 in power when they take the city.
Has anyone noticed that the models have the shields sideways? The point of a shield is supposed to be down, as the elongated point is used to guard the foreleg. I think it's actually correct on mounted units, though.
Adventuring with heroes is one of the things I really enjoy about the game. Being limited by the number of heroes I can bring with me in an army seems dumb to me. I'm not sure how the math works out, but that needs to change. If I want to bring four heroes to take on monsters, I should be able to do so. This is especially true in the beginning of the game where some of the most effective units you have are heroes. As for the XP buff traits,
Hrm. So you can basically always bleed an enemy no matter what. Interesting...I guess? Seems like having high armor is an extreme waste of resources. As mentioned, it's far better to simply have high init and get to go first. After taking a look at the numbers in excel, my instinct was correct. The cost/benefit ratio for armor sucks.
Okay, so I have a 7th level hero with 50 hit points, attack 24 defense 26. He fights 5 shrills and gets annihilated . Shrills have an attack of 7. So....that means that a defense value of 26, more than three times the value of the attacks, reduces the effectiveness of being attacked by about 40-60? I honestly have no idea what armor actually does in the game (if it does anything, in fact). The shrills were consistently hitting
So...yeah. Armor sucks. I mean, considering the massive amount of time and expense you put into it, it's awful . I'm not sure what the hell happened between games, but was there some kind of massive armor nerf?
I look forward to seeing your future work as well.
Been looking at this, halmal. And I'm liking what you are putting into it. Keep up the good work!
I would recommend a full changelog be made available from a download link.
I am running a AMD Radeon 6850 on FE 1.01 and I noticed this last night. I'm not sure if it has to do with eventual garbage building up, but I had been playing for several hours.
I take it that it's live, then.
Well, we have bear cavalry, why not bear coding?
I now know not to make a home next to this guy. He doesn't like to share. [e digicons]*_*[/e]
Any word on when this is going live today? [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e]
I didn't realize how much crazy he brought to the table. I think I'll start a new game after 1.01 comes out.
So I've got a game humming along, as you do. And my sphere of influence (or Zone of Control?) accidentally rubs up against this wizard guy hanging out in his keep. When it said "Deadly Epic Fire and Death Will Befall You" when I looked at him up first seeing him, I decided to go the other way (naturally). So anyway, my ZoC being over his keep apparently made him mad or something. So he walked up to the nearby city, stepped forward, cast a spell which I have no id

It would mean a lot to us if you guys released the current beta build to the players with this fix in place. I just got the game recently and have found I am spamming these forums the past few days waiting and hoping for the fix to be released. The problem is big enough that I find I cann
