Yes. Tall is more fun than wide. But wide is more OP than tall. Hence the dilemma. I'd like to play TALL games without feeling like I'm nerfing myself.

Part of the fun of breaking a game, by the way, is NOT being quiet about it.

After cutting through all of the fluff (granted that the fluff is fun), that's the crux of the problem. The debate about LEP is effectively an ego contest between people who play with lots of planets and people who don't.
It's pretty consistent: People who play with fewer planets are ok with LEP as it is. People who play with more planets hate it or simply pick up Patriotic in all of their games.
You pretty much have to go Patriotic with 100+ colonies unless you enjoy nerfing yourself or enjoy OCD behavior like surrounding each colony (and you would have more than 100 of them) with 3-4 starbases or more. That's effectively what the LEP system forces players to do.

Why? Your logic makes no sense. If you break the game YOU SHOULD BE AS LOUD ABOUT IT AS POSSIBLE so the developers will be motivated to fix it.

The point is that on larger maps with lots of planets, you have to starbase spam to deal with the LEP. Unfortunately, the more planets you have the more difficult it becomes to starbase spam all of your colonies. In other words, people who enjoy playing with lots of planets sort of get screwed over by the LEP or the excessive micromanagement. As a result many of you have STOPPED playing with lots of planets for precisely that reason. I've noticed that m
Oddly enough, it sort of works. Fast Assembly and Ultra Fast Assembly can still be used by non-synth races if you select Yor tech. The biggest problem though is the lack of pop capacity on planets. Yor tech means no farms. That can be rectified partially with Monsantium deposits (+1 food per item) and farmers (+2 food). Wondering if you can trade techs to get farms. If so, it means playing as a synthetic race is actually a NERF since you can get
Bump. Just wondering. Has anyone tested yet? It would be nice to grow population with Fast Assembly AND natural growth.
But it's true MOST of the time? The point of the matter is that it's a lot easier to just spam factories instead of thinking of matters like this. It works quite effectively. I reckon with massive amounts of starbase spam it IS more efficient to boost morale and Total Production up. 5 starbases providing the percent bonus with massive amounts of farms and morale buildings will do the trick. On the other hand, that's like an OCD trap. &nbs
Fair enough. I've actually made it a rule that I'll only build one starbase per planet. Of course with 100+ planets even THAT'S a little too much. God knows what would happen if I really tried.... And yes, relics should be much more rare and placed in difficult to get locations.
I know it's early but we need a system where the top downloaded mods are ADVERTISED somewhere with pictures (preferably other than Steam Workshop, which doesn't have a very good interface) like the way it's done on Nexus Mod Manager for Skyrim.

[e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] The dominant strategies are either: 1. Colony spam 2. Starbase spam. 3. Do both (the best strategy, but also the one requiring the most commitment). Building starbases non-stop can get tedious after a while for most people. You're literally spending hours doing the same thing over and over agai
In other words, starbase benefits should not stack with other starbases. Otherwise, 90% of the time spent on games will be building starbases to surround your planets (which is a rather tedious chore). Currently the dominant strategies are either: 1. Colony spam. 2. Starbase spam. 3. Do both. 100+ planets with 5 starbases means the construction of 500+ starbases. Each starbase requires at least 8 constructors for a total
Yes I think the answer to your approval problems is to build an approval building. 5 star bases can surround a planet as well, and can add massive amounts of approval.
Which gets into the second issue: The boredom of starbase spam. Clearly you're one of the types who enjoy spamming starbases so that you can spam MORE starbases EVEN FASTER.
Until they nerf your favorite traits [e digicons]:)[/e]
Well, yes, but that still wouldn't solve the problem that on 100+ planets your morale from LEP is effectively 0.
Bah wasting a trait on patriotic is inefficient just use starbasses i havent built a single approval building on any planet ( except the one that generates a malevelent point every ten turns) most of my planets only use 3 of the max 12 starbases and i dont have a problem keeping my approval at 100% usually around 60+ planets
Let's see how that goes when you get to 100+ planets.
A manual would be nice but personally I believe developers have bigger fish to fry. They're people too, which means they have time constraints.
@Naselus - well said, without proprietary formulas!! [e digicons]:)[/e] . If the capping point is 5 approval vs. farms, then the approval malus should be increased far higher than -25% when at 0% approval. So... your thoughts?
