Outreach is still overpowered on larger sized maps abundant/abundant. I'd know. [e digicons]:D[/e]
I'd rather that they simply limit them to 1 module per large ship and 2 for huge ships.
THAT is a good idea. Easily implemented too.
Hives is more important. And the colonial hospital line. Also, interstellar government line for bonus production and research. With Content +2, a few harmony crystals, and Patriotic you can effectively ignore morale.
OK, now back by my main machine, which I left on that soak. Looks like my faction surrendered to someone on turn 259. 3 AI races are all neck-and-neck at around 1800 power: The Iridium have reached 1000 population and have 95 planets, two of them taken from someone else. They've built 48 starbases, built 350 ships and won 78 battles. The Salarians from the MAss Effect ra
Well, I choose Content +2. Makes it redundant. The problem is the opportunity cost: you have to research morale tech early on and that's a pain given there are more important things out there to get.
as naselus pointed out, the midgame you describe is a result of your settings and your early game. try playing with rare or occasional habitable planets. the "early colony rush" and "midgame consolidation phases" are only distinct phases when there are too many planets to grab. with less planets you have a more organic growth model. there aren't hundreds of worlds to grab so you'll automatically build up your core planets while explori
Just... more flexibility. In Civ IV you could war effectively in any era because the only limiting factor was production and army units. In this game in order to war you need a large pop first. Much harder to rush.... The problem is in the early-mid game getting the %bonuses for manufacturing and research tech is so powerful that it forces players along that path. I know: another idea: They should add a mechanic where conquering worlds
Ooops. Sorry for double post. Ignore this one.
Here is the issue: 1. The beginning of the game is extremely fun. You're constantly thinking: what's the best method to get the most colonies? That's a challenge. 2. When war begins, that part is fun too. How do I not get owned by the AI on Suicidal? However, there are two patches where the game gets EXTREMELY boring: 1. The period BETWEEN the colony rush and the beginning of war. Due to the way the pop mechanics

There's also the bigger problem, as you mentioned, that once you're powerful the rest is just boring mop up.
Ooooooooooo.
Yes. You should try the Thalan tech tree. Get Gaia Vortex, Hives, and Hyperion Matrix. And get fast +2. Really important in the early game.
The problem is recently I haven't gotten up until 3, and I need to spend that time on making trading decisions because markets close at 4. [e digicons]O:)[/e] But thank you. I'll try next time.
This is an important topic that DESERVES ATTENTION. I think many would agree that it's relevant (I want modders to create balanced maps and share it with everyone else). A map editor would help tremendously with that.
Problem: Tight clusters is seriously a crap shoot. You either end up surrounded by like 5 habitable planets, or you win the lottery and can colonize 30+ worlds depending on location. Would like a balanced map setting where EVERYONE starts in their own little tight cluster with effectively the SAME number of worlds to colonize. Just an idea for potential modders out there in the future. Also, is there a way to ADD habitable planets with a cheat code so I c
Also, synthetic creatures SHOULD NOT want snuggler colonies. [e digicons]>:([/e] [e digicons]>:([/e]
Well, I'm going to wait and let other people download mods and let them post their thoughts. Over time the best will come to the top. Much better to let OTHERS be the guinea pigs.
See? If you make a point repetitively enough, you'll get peoples' attention. But thank you for pointing that out to him. My tactics work!!!!!! [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e]
My point in an earlier thread has been the AI should simply mass fleets at its worlds until it's maxed out logistically and then randomly choose a target. The AI is trying to do too much. As a result it does dumb things. A simpler approach is better.
On carriers should I just fill them up entirely with fighters? What does that other interceptor module do?
I read the title of your post When I Play With Anything Else Other than Thalan Tech I feel Bad Playing With Myself Oh dear....
No, no, no, that's not what I wrote!!! Please read carefully. LOL.
The ease of installation will be a HUGE factor behind whether it will be successful or not. Once again, look at Skyrim and NMM.
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
