In the modding files, up to 8 units can be built. I have managed to create a set where there are 9 units. How many units can be supported in 1 tile? - 6 is the max to build - support for 8 units per tile - I have created 9 16? 25? Or no upper limit?
UnleashedElf
Another example of a unit made for end game: Tarth Foot Bow ChainHelmet_Masterwork DragonHideCloak ChainVambraces_Masterwork ChainGreaves_Masterwork &nb
I do recommend for some top end units: - Adding some equipment like a first aid kit or something for each sub-type. Using this: Cloak MaximizeSum
How many times can you research the refined technologies? Unlimited? Or is there a limit of some sort? What is the most times that you have ever researched a refined technology?
Yeah, tested in game. It does work. Although I need to go to war with Kraxis to test out again.
Additionally, you can try this spell to simulate the Tower of the Magi protection (It's a city enchantment). I doubt, however, that you will have access to Arcane Bulwark (That's the spell name) by Season 75 and you would still need to do the above mod for it to work against Broken Loyalties. https://www.dropbox.com/s/45
@tjashen It'd be a very imperfect solution though. You would need it to scale on improvements, make the defenders disappear, and auto-summon. It'd get complex real quickly. I would like to see some acknowledgement from the dev team on this one.
Ah I see. I have been busy with real life and I have not as closely followed this forum. But yeah, there has been no acknowledgement, much less any evidence that there will be an effort to fix this, which is unfortunate.
Okay - will give this a shot. By the way, thanks a lot for all the questions you've answered from me so far.
it's a feature.
You're kidding right?
Is there a way to give all technologies to all players at the start of the game?
Is this still being updated?
Thanks. Yeah - got it to work in chrome. It's a browser thing I guess.
Great post tjashen . +Karma. I think that there is a general lack of movement within the 4X sort of genre. There hasn't been a game that has truly wowed my in a while. I think that there needs to be several things that should be addressed - A more engaging world where there are more options
Primal, I cannot access the image you have posted.
When you attack an AI city, if you attack multiple times, then for every attack, they get a fresh set of the city defenders at their city at full hp. This is true even if you have managed to kill off all city defenders (and fail to take the city). For players though, they only get the city defenders the first time around? Then after that, they get no subsequent defenders for that turn? Should players get the same treatment as AI for city defenders
Ok sure, will keep an eye on it. Thanks for the update. I should also check out Primal's Xtra series of mods as well to see what other possibilities are there.
Okay, will take some time to check it out.
I'll have to take a look at your mod and investigate.
I will investigate this further when I have the time to play a new map as to see whether there may be issues with the Temple of the Dragon and 2 Sarogs.
Yeah the hard part would be creating new improvements, weapons, and other things. Let's see: - Improvements - Spells - Equipment - Buffs (like army size and "refined") You may be right that it is a lot more work. Hmm ... can you copy the current tech tree and mod it?
Yeah they are in the XML code. I think that it is it? Sigh ... I guess playing AOW3 for a while made me hope for more. The one thing that I'd like to see is a better tactical combat system.
Totally beginner question, especially since I've been playing for so long. But what do walls do? They prevent monsters from destroying improvements without entering the city, but that is about everything that I can see. Do they have any other effect? Why upgrade? What do the castle walls do compared to the hedge?
Right now it looks like the game essentially has a tech tree with 2 variants - 1 for Empire and 1 for Kingdom. Would it be possible to create a new tech tree from ground up? Or a third variant?
Quoting Icemaniaa, reply 399But hopefully this is enough for those of you on the polar extremes of this debate to realise there is a middle ground that could be satisfying to a larger audience. The devs are already going for a middle ground, as stated here: "In GC3 we will introduce the ability to assign roles to ships, giving them unique behaviors in fleet battles. These different behaviors will be used to spe
