Frogboy suggested updating video drivers. But I for one always keep these up to date just because it is esssential to a good performance. Also the game not closing itself is NOT the game loading saves into steam cloud. The steam synchronization happens AFTER the game is completly closed (either normally or by Task manager).

As Hunter said, Steam is uploading your save games to the steam cloud where they are stored for your use. If you do not plan to switch your computer soon and only use one anyways you can safely disable that feature. But if not the case you should let it enabled to have an easier transition between different pcs.

0.85 should have introduced the Steam achievements for winning as capitar and umber. But I cannot see them in the achievement overview. Is this an oversight?

Ongr is actually an Ogre I think. I do not believe he is a Twisted in his description. And whenever I went on to control him it always worked with the Ascian Collar. I actually just checked: Ongr is a Trog.

Hm I always did use it that way, but even though I did it. It was always in any other case utterly useless. Maybe it should do things differently depending on your sovereigns Class? Meaning Defenders would get a golem (?) and Asssassins a Bear? something along those lines.
I also had this happen to me. The collar disappeared after trying it on "a wrong type". I reloaded because it was Ongr and I don't know why I couldn't charm him.

Yeah stealth is basically useless. Imho it should allow for settlements besides dragonhoards or just evil creatures in general. Even now Units(!) still get attacked because they are supposedly "in the way". Tarth is a really bad race.
To answer Ratas question: There is the Holthiarn Pike are something along those lines. It is pretty tough with 20 Damage and ignore armor (the usual spear thing) however it also increases impale by +50%
I for one would be happy with just about any change right now. That sounds desperate. But isn't it true that the current way Spell of Making works is flawed? Or is it perfectly fine this way?
I would like to support Winnihym idea. It seems good. Even though technically you don't get less know across the world when your champions level up, so thats a minor point. Maybe one could make Experience gain global meaning any experience earned by anyone will apply to everybody. That means commanders sitting in a city will level up as well as everyone else. And your sovereign will be always
I totally understand your point. But sadly I have no answer to when they would be useful. Maybe someone else could help us here? If anything they are definately too weak for the stage at when they come into the game.
Yeah, the Hiergamemnon is basically useless because of this.
