I've had this problem and attribute it to running out of virtual memory. I like to play a huge game, but after the game has progressed for some time the problem starts occurring. I save the game frequently using ctrl-S

I've been playing it for a long time It has lost its variety and is less challenging. New wildlands and quests would help.
IMO unrest penalty is too onerous. It appears to me that the AI suffers from it since I see a lot of cities with high unrest. Most of the time it is better to raze a city than try to develop it.
Frankly, I've become bored with LH. I'm ready for some big changes; no matter what they are. And I do like to have to explore and try different things.
Lighting BolT is a very powerful spell once you obtain enough Spell Damage. Blizzard works best when you get the blizzard sword and can cast it with no wait time. But as previously stated it is not helpful against dragon where Lightning Bolt is the spell to use. Sunder is the spell to use on Elementals.
Suggest that you checkout the Wiki at http://elementalgames.org/w/index.php?title=Main_Page But be aware that it is oriented towards the Legendary Heroes version of the game. (From the previous comments it appears that people are not aware of LH.)
I check it. Is there a way to see what has been updated?
On the Main Page there is a link to 'Recent Changes' http://elementalgames.org/w/index.php?title=Special:RecentChanges
Just a reminder that we have a wiki. I'm not sure if people are using it. I've been adding stuff but wondering if it's worth my time.

This has been occurring for quite some time. I try to suffer quietly.
That explains it. The Blizzard scroll and the Heart of the Glacier both have zero casting time. Having a casting time of 2 seems unreasonable since by the time it gets cast the enemy units have moved and make selection of the area difficult or the battle is over.
That works. I've made a comment in the wiki.
The Blizzard spell from the Water spell book still required the additional turn to be cast. Note: Savant is a Mage trait that provides "-1 to casting times"
Thanks, I'll try that.
I did all 3 tasks but nothing special happened. Only got an item in the quest list that said "Have Assassin's Blade". Nothing happens when it is clicked. The original tile for the quest is still there with a white marker (indicating not done). Is it supposed to work this way? [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Bugged? I thought it was a feature. If you get the Sacrifice spell you can convert the population to mana.
You have to be stronger than the faction with which to want to make an alliance. In my last campaign Tarth was stronger and would become an ally so I had to defeat them. So if you want to achieve an alliance victory you should make an ally of anyone until you have defeated all the stronger factions. You only need one faction to ally with you if all the others have been destroyed.
Controlling Unrest has been added to the Strategy section. Presently it just contains the basic info. It will probably require further editing to make it more pretty.
Where can I get help on how to edit the Wiki? or will it be intuitive?
I'm working on an article for the Wiki on Unrest. Be patient.
They also have an excess of horses, usually about 5 or 6. But they are never equipped with a horse.
The village then had 0 grain, 0 material, and 0 essence.
Something has changed with regard to moving across resources or outposts that are owned by another faction. If you click past the tile my unit will move across just as if it were a caravan. But if I have only one movement factor left, my unit will end up parked on the tile. What it means is that outposts cannot be used to block other factions from moving to valuable places. You have to block with units standing guard.
I also enjoyed the scenario. It is well done.
I've noticed that my disk activity light is very active for some time after exiting the game.
