Of those, I've only played Torchlight 2 and XCOM. It's so hard to judge FE to those games because they're so different. I do remember Civilization V got scores like 90 and FE is better. I hate guessing but it shouldn't get anything lower than an 85. So I'll say 87 only because the reviewers these days tend to be kids looking for explosions and won't appreciate the vast amount of hours one can get out o

Or does this mean the AI is "cheating" in higher levels? For example, showing interest for higher level champions only when I finished researching the necessary ability to recruit them?
So I've always thought that console ports' interfaces suck because the developers are contractually obligated to withhold from PC gamers what they cannot offer to console gamers. K, so for both familiars and imps, they're glass canons that can't survive a turn of archers even. I can understand that the developers don't want to make them too powerful, cause there's nothing worse than having two sovereigns running amuck. ;) However, on the flipside, it's instant death in combat. Here's my proposal: Give them the Impulsive trait. This way, they can have the guarenteed first action in combat, obtaining some buff or spell out of
Good Morning. So often, within the first few turns of starting a game, I head during the transition of my turn (I use 'end turn') a sound effect of an enchantment or spell being cast, yet it surely is not I, for it is not my turn. Is there a bug where the AI's sfx is being heard by the player? Has anyone else experianced this?
I haven't seen anything like this. If you want to post your debug.err we can see if its kicking out a bunch of errors. (on a brighter note....ctrl-N hasn't crashed on me since 0.992...yet) XD EDIT: Well,
Well...to summerize...the familiar and imp sure seem like they need some kind of boost so that players actaully consider building them, and AI aren't wasting their time by building them...

Good Evening Stardock You may (or may not) have noticed that my beta testing has decreased significantly since the release of 0.990. There is a reason: Ever since 0.990, everytime I have had more than several river tiles revealed in a game, everything has been slowing down considerably to a 'choppy drag'. It's to to the point where I can no longer play the game effectively. To compound the issue, now in 0.992, even revealing ocean tiles has this e
Yeah, I'm a bit at a loss in how to make the familiar worthwhile too. Advice would be greatly appriciated.
Good suggestion. Excellant rebalance of the currently useless ability.
Great find!
Very Good post.
Looks very well put together. Great job Stardock!! Also love the 'stamp' mechanic. Really adds additional depth to the sandbox mode.
By industry standards, the game was probably ready for release with Beta 5. But I think given the disaster that WOM was, it makes sense that they were anal retentive this time.
Industry standards SUCK. Windows 8 CLEARLY proves that most companies just do what they want...especially the big ones with clout.
Challenging for me....is challenging. That's my level.
Or when you have a unit move out of a town, and it leaves by way of the backdoor forest instead of the main city gate with roads??? That is soo annoying.
Yea, wolves got a real boost awhile back, they use to be pushovers, and now they scare me. And to counter arguement: ALL medium enounters should be rated 'weak' relative to the WEAK dark wizard encounter. [e digicons]
The reason why so 'many' bugs are being reported on these forums is due to the absolute flexibility that the game can provide in regards to what is considered a 'bug'. I'd argue that many 'options' are being posted. Stardock has been burning through these reports almost as fast as beta testers are cranking them out... Despite possibly lacking several features (though that too is a matter of opinion) FE will be ready for release as it is a very stable platfo

This is a genre defining game, containing elements of 4x strategy, role playing, tactics, and creative suite. The prospective market for FE is much larger than just players of 4x strategy games, especially with all the customization available.
Pretty much thi

I'll [e digicons]k1[/e] this. Again.
I've noticed a real slowdown whenever I have 5+ river tiles within my display. All else seems to be working great.
Had some trouble getting a game that I would enjoy going. World starts are still pretty sparce and many ctrl-N crashes. I am finding that, when I start, I like having two out of three of the following: 2 essence, adjacent forest, adjacent river. I like having my capital be a decent location. [Balance] Turn 2.
