@GFireflyE: I feel your pain in regards to Steam. Fortunately, I have had literally 0 Steam-related problems while installing/updating/playing LH. But other games on the other hand... another story completely. I could barely play Skyrim through Steam whatsoever (which their EULA states you "must" do to play). After finding an illegal cracked executable to run a game I purchased legally, it ran like a breeze (breaking the "law" in order to play

Typically, I'm one of those in the vocal minority that often hates DLC common practices, especially for console games (but there certainly are exceptions for PC games, like The Sims 3). While it was a great for a time, DLC has since grown into one big shameful scam on the consumer, while so many continue to mindlessly lap it up. I dream of a day where a far bigger percentage start speaking out, and had the intelligence and self-control to not buy it, making the dark side of DL
Happy to see this updated for LH! Been looking forward to trying this out for quite some time. Although I've done something goofy upon installation. I haven't seen any mention of what goes where, but these files obviously cannot simply be placed into folders as-is (unlike how most other mods are installed).
Pirates and vampires in the next DLC? Especially if that involves sea travel and naval warfare, I'd be very okay with this.
I have to say, I'm slightly concerned by all this. You're listening to your customers and pretty much releasing exactly what they ask for. That's just not normal in the video game world.
Indeed, i
Yep, along with a new quest-related DLC, and I don't know if the DLC is going to cause mod conflicts. Haven't noticed anything noticeably wonky with CoS 1.1c specifically due to LH 1.2... yet. Although I do agree with others saying there seems to be an incredibly low amount of iron mines in the game lately.
^ I'd like to know the answer to that as well. It's really weird I haven't noticed this happening, if it's been there at least for awhile. I played a lot of E:WoM, and I barely touched FE. But I still seem to get really strong hits (non-crits) with my henchmen after being cut down to one unit in LH, so I find it really hard to believe if it's "x 4" or "x 3" or "x 2" as the stack gets killed off. Seems far more subtle much of t
I've come across this thought repeatedly while playing since Elemental: WoM. I could not agree more with this. It makes perfect sense both from not only a realism point of view, but also a balance point of view. Because now, trained units wouldn't be SO incredibly over-powered throughout the game (especially later on (as the OP touched on)). Not to mention this would also encourage players (and AI (hopefully)) to be smarter about how they use t
This particular error has been notorious in Stardock games for quite a long time. I'm very interested in hearing what solutions are offered to you involving this error, and if any work out for you.
Interesting to see these thoughts on Gilden. I too, have disliked the faction for many of the same reasons, among others (even insignificant ones, like their sov looks too much like one of my custom sovs). Although most of my reasons revolve around minor irritations, I've since removed Gilden from my game completely. Problem(s) solved.
+1 for multiplayer as long as they keep the game mostly as is and not nerf it for "Balance reasons."
That's impossible. Transforming the current SP experience would mean making all sorts of sacrifices via a thorough "rebalancing", and in many ways you're not going to like (since you're against nerfing). You may personally believe nothing should change, however, the gameplay mechanics have to
^ That's really great news! I'm still holding out for a way to do it without a separate summon ability (so they simply start with you the old fashioned way), but this thread has given me some hope. Thanks guys.
Aww... I love you guys. I consider this forum one of the last bastions on the internet for intelligent, level-headed gamers. So many people with clear, sound reasoning... it's refreshing! -1!
Well, I don't know how much this will help you either (maybe it will), but have you tried disabling the screensaver? Aside from disabling auto-saves, I also found doing ANY sort of switching focus from this game will drastically raise the odds of inevitable crashing. Using screensavers, alt-tabbing, anti-virus pop-up messages, etc. Unless you've already tried all this, please do. I suppose it depends how badly you want it to work. [e digicons];)[/e] &n
Honestly, I would be happy if I could go through a single hour without loading an autosave due to crashes. Constant crashing is the mean reason I don't play more.
I found in my experience, that may very well be your problem -- autosaves. Try disabling them. My game doesn't crash anywhere near as much as it used to after disabling this. Fortunately for me, I prefer saving manually anyway. <

Elderberries: Yeah, the longer serial number you're referring to has nothing to do with this. If you see the FE DLC on Steam, then it should now be showing up on the Stardock page for LH, with a fifteen-character serial number. If it's not showing up, then it doesn't sound like a Steam problem, but a problem on Stardock's end... assuming you didn't bork something yourself along the way. [e digicons];P[/e]
Followed the directions and works perfectly. For those having issues, follow Kantok 's thorough instructions in the second post, and as long as you've previously bought the FE map pack, it'll work without a hitch. Glad to have this back.
I'll make a commander if there are no other pressing matters to attend to. But sometimes if I really need a lot of assistance taking out monsters (or other trouble) nearby my cities early on, I make my first champion an all-out healer. Especially if one of the first champions offered has life magic. This way I don't have to worry about my vulnerable (at this point anyway) sovereign getting taken out in battle, or losing my precious early-game henchmen. <
LOVING this so far. I have not found any graphical issues like Bernie has said; everything looks great in my experience (is it possible you have a mod conflict BernieTime?). I personally enjoy the vast diversity your new traits offer. Although I haven't attempted to examine closely how the AI handles the new traits, but I have noticed an element of unpredictability in certain classes handled by the AI (which is a plus in my book). I find the new acralite features t
The OP's (Original Poster) describing an issue with fortresses being OP (Over Powered). It really has nothing to do with crushing blow. They could build axemen or spearmen just as dominant, it's just not necessary. The simplest and most unsubtle units are powerful enough to do everything he needs. (Though I do wonder what difficulty he's playing at) If you have a fully upgraded 4 essence fortress,
Assassin doesn't work as anything. They should only be picked when someone wants to minimize their fun and chances of winning. (there are rare exceptions where perfect assassin equipment can be found and dodge can be made high enough)
This made me lol. It's funny, because it's true. When it comes to functionality (melee-wise) and just having fun stomping people, I always pick Warrior.&n
Haven't ever encountered this myself. If a town gets attacked by a large army/otherwise powerful foe, my militia goes down fast if I'm not properly prepared in other ways. Crushing Blow or no Crushing Blow. In terms of balance, there are plenty of other issues I'd like them to tackle long before something like this... like balancing classes (buffing Assassins), etc.
Well, I believe both sides of this conversation are perfectly valid; neither side should be shouted down. LH is now working near-perfectly for me, and I've been there since the release of WoM. That said, this was not always the case. LH 1.0 (and even 1.1) originally gave me the same game-ruining crash it did since my experience throughout all patches of WoM. The dreaded, "DX error: Invalid Call". Even in LH's most recent patch, I got this horri
I have two more questions if anyone is kind enough to give some input. 1. Is it possible to create an all-female faction, that is properly used by the AI to have all-female henchmen as well as all-female champions? I use Parrottmath's wonderful 'female henchmen' mod, so that part isn't an issue. But I don't know how to force the AI to only use women. I'm starting to believe forcing it to only choose female champions is imp
