So many old but excellent ideas are waiting to be implemented in FE! ps I wrote something just to bump this interesting thread. Writing BUMP seemed too... dumb.
Ad Lib? Sounds great! Will the music use all 9 voices (polyphony!)? I know I'm asking too much, but it would be great! ps Ad Lib sound card should easily handle multiplayer mode. I'm not a programmer, but I'm sure it's not hard to implement.
Could you make a site that is more smart phone friendly--maybe with a mobile edition?
I second it. The forums are practically unreadable on my Kindle (I use it to browse the internet when I'm off), because it's not s calable. The font is too tiny, when I make it bigger the site does not fit the screen.
There’s no NDA so you can do whatever video you want or post about it or whatever.
Yay! So people, we (non-beta fans and all the internet!) are counting on you. But listen to askjosh :
The point of this is that while anyone can make a Lets Play video, it really does take some skill to c
Frogboy just said :
There is no NDA The fate of the game is in your hands in the most literal sense. Because Elemental: War of Magic got such a bad rap (fairly or unfairly is irrelevant), we realistically cannot do a lot of marketing because every article is going to start with “After the ‘disastrous’ Elemental: War of Magic, Stardock hopes to make up lost ground, is it too la
I doubt that you can patch manually. In the recent past, the patches have only been available digitally and then only through the distribution service. I imagine this will be the same way. Just a heads up if you really have computers without an internet connection.
My future mobile PC will have internet connection when I'm home, but when I'm off (sometimes for longer time) -- it won't. So no manual patch
So no discounts or free games for me then. I never owned WoM. edit: Thank you very much Alstein for comprehensive answer. Correct me if I'm wrong: I will have possibility to activate, continuously patch, and play FE on two PCs (edit: without active internet connection, except for patching, which can be done manually ). (If Stardock keeps their old DRM policy.) It would be great, since I will be possibly buying a new net
So it's $39.95 . Is it pre-order price? Will it stay the same after release? I would also know what will be DRM policy for FE in Stardock Store. ps I love the new site design. (edit: I accidentally put this in wrong section: beta instead of general (?). Can anyone fix this?)
There could also be a few AI personalities to choose from (something like defensive , careful , aggressive ). I guess it won't be hard to implement since different factions will have different personalities (not only on strategic map, but also on tactical, am I right?), so the game will already have different AIs.
WOW, I love it. I don't really need beta. Just more posts from Derek! PS When I've read " Redwatch" I immediately thought of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redwatch . Not very fortunate association.
The AI currently sends all units to 0,0 each turn. But the animation is smooth. What more do you want?
There's gonna be the greatest battle in 0,0. We call it The Battle of 0,0 or just The Battle. (I'm from the future.)
You can get a longer recent posts lists by clicking on "Recent Posts" when you are logged in or by going to "https://forums.elementalgame.com/recent".
Spam stays, but it helps a bit. Thanks.
PS I was wrong. There are not three, but four never-ending-spam-threads! So they occupy almost half of the "Recent Posts" list (4/10 to be precise). Stardock, please fix this!
I agree. Those million-page-long posts ("Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin.", "You're Banned!: The Forum Game" and "forum 'ban game' two") have become a private chat rooms. There should be an option to filter them out! And I would really like to group all recent Elemental-related posts on one list. After FE-beta is released it could be handy.
Initiative is how often a unit gets to act Movement is how far they can move
You mean "how far they can move in one turn "? OK, I think I get it. So there is no dependence between move value and initiative value, isn't it? Is initiative a basic value, i.e. not dependent on any other attribute or stat?
In Gmail you can create a filter that tells server not to send to Spam emails containing defined word (like "stardock"). I guess there are similar options in other email services (a white list?).
One more thing: initiative . As far as I know more initiative means more frequent moves in tactical combat. What is real life (i.e. real time) equivalent of initiative? Speed (unit with high initiative can go further in the same time then units with low initiative) and reflex+awareness (unit with high initiative can attack more targets in the same time) I guess. So initiative stat should relate to dexterity attribute
Could we see a few examples of the same scene with various palettes?
It’ll be interesting to see what beta testers choose as their preferred palettes.
Will you have access to config files of beta players?
Except that FE is also part RPG. Without tactical combat there would be no point to over half the spells in the game, 90%of monsters, 80% of items, customizing troops, Elemental Lords, etc. Elemental is more based off HoMM or other TBS games that do have tactical combat then Civ. You can't just take out tactical combat, the entire game is based around it. Even auto-calc still has tactical combat you just don't see it. Besides having tactic
