I believe you are right. Ambient sound in WoM is all but non-existent and would have gone a long way to adding to the immersion. This has been mentioned since early beta but never really taken up. Compare the ambient sound in Age of Wonders to WoM. Chalk and cheese.
Yeah, ambient sound (with music) build the climate. Remember beautiful sounds on strategic map in Heroes of Might and Magic II ? I can still hear them, I d
The Plague Cat you see on the right would never have been in War of Magic. That’s because War of Magic was much more broadly scaled.
Is the future RPG you guys are/will be creating going to be even more narrowed? I like the idea! edit: I meant that I like the idea of three different games in Elementalverse with three different scopes, not that I don't like the large scope of E:MoM.

@ larienna According to http://www.usinflationcalculator.com rate of inflation change of USD between 1986 and 2011 is 101.9%. So $70 in 1986 = $141.35 in 2011. So the game that costs $70 nowadays is twice cheaper than cartridge with "The Legend of Zelda" bought in 1986! (Maybe shipping from Japan was ext
After buying netbook and discovering digital distribution platforms I (re)discovered old games on the one hand and middle market on the other. I would really love to play new Baldur's Gate-like game. An RPG game based on E:WoM is really great idea. It could be world-driven RPG game I'm looking for. (But I know that it would be a self-deception to believe that it would run on my Atom N450 netbook...;) I don't think that Dragon Age is worse than say BG. It just gives a very

Thanx GW Swicord, I recently got interested in Stardock games, so sooner or later I'll play GC. I guess I'll skip GC1. To return to game music - I forgot about Diablo 1 music, especially Tristram Theme (I don't ever remember the rest od the tracks) - I just adore it! (But frankly it's sometimes hard for me to distinguish excellent music per se from excellent music just for me. Sometimes I just love not the greatest music since is r
I think the music is great. If you like GC2's music, you'll probably like Elementals...
There are some games, which I missed an opportunity to play. Currently I'm reducing backlog and playing Master of Magic (from gog.com). Next will be Age of Wonders 1 (at the moment I only know the demo version and the music from it). I will have to wait for Gallactic Civilizations 2 and its music for a while then. BTW, do I want to p
Good idea Goldmos. Why I didn't think of that? Maybe I was affraid that chatter would drown out the game sound? But I found gameplay movies without chatter. After listening for about 30 minutes of different tracks I can say that this game's music is very decent. It reminds me of nice Guild Wars music. Nothing brilliant like Age of Wonders 1 or Baldur's Gate. So, yeah, like Fearzone I would't buy a soundtrack. But I wouldn't mute or replace it either. BTW, the game itsel
Thank you Fearzone and Goldmos. I guess I will like this music. Do you know any website with some samples of the music?
Hi! Wondering about buying EWoM (two free expansions if buying before 1st November inclines me to think fast!). The question is: how good the in-game music is? I know that everyone has different tastes, so I will tell you what fantasy/RPG music I like.
