Uff this list is baaad from my viewpoint. Also I would propose to the OP to put a link to the list in the post. I CBA to find the whole list so cannot comment on it but only on what he wrote here. I would say F1&2, BG2 and Planespace Torment cannot in any universe be worse then Oblivion or F3, but I have no clue at what position they were put. Also, Starcraft being the most popular RTS of all time (and the biggest esports game so far) and being only 23?! On what crack is this site

Games crashing to desktop is not a real bother if they are fun and you are eager to start it again and again to enjoy it. I played a few games that had bad crashing errors (some were never patched) but the fun factor just kept you going. With Elemental, I play one game after each patch and once the game crashes I forget about it until the next patch. Although this version is better then the last beta (as they toned down the number or creatures attacking you and all that
Although for the most part Supcom1 is superior to SupCom II one of the things Supcom2 does right is move base building closer to the front. Factories become mini fortresses that you can build to protect your border resources, and to reinforce right there at the front line. Which is a much better system then building all your barracks in your own personal corner. Build orders are not strategy, which is where a lot of games get it wrong.[/quot

I found ME1 a more of a RPG, while ME2 more of a action game with some rpg elements. If I had to describe the games in one sentence I would say ME1 feels more like a PC game while ME2 feels more like a console game (I know ME1 is also a console game ported to PC). Both games have problems that were already mentioned in this thread (about their methods of artificially prolonging playtime, something that almost any RPG today suffers from as also shown by DAO and Fallout 3). But bo

I know you guys are working hard to fix the issue, and I have faith that you will! I have to say that EWoM handles this issue FAR better than Civ5. When my Civ5 games get too big, performance comes to a halt and finally crashes. Your game continues to operate at peak performance, but then eventually crashes. I also find that I don't get the OoM err

Don't play the first two because there is something about these games that I can't quite put my finger on, but I don't find them immersive. I just don't invest anything in them. No, micro and macro are not equal to strategy/tactics. Macro is what you do in base. It is all the base building, resource collecting, upgrades starting and troop building. Micro is all the rest. Both can be strategy and tactics. Putting that building on your choke while you enemy is coming to get 10s more before the enemy troops come into your base is tactics. Building the base in a certain way to get that needed unit at 5 min mark is strategy. And as y

Uff this game lacks a lot to be fun. I tried to play 1.19a few days ago and in addition to game being really laggy on my monster machine if not in cloth map mode, it lacks most fun things MoM had like different factions, fun spells, fun champion abilities, item crafting, huge fun maps to explore, troops that are not all humanoids. It lacks functional things SotSE had like a good research screen that makes sense and lets you plan your tech path (Sword of the Stars is the perfect exampl

Units are just another form of resources, to be applied or not applied - and whatever you choose is a strategic decision. At least the way we've talked about it in this thread.
Actually, we have only started to discuss this. I see nobody agreeing on a common definition.

'Strategy' inherently requires more than ordering units around, it requires a grander scheme to have a robust production capacity and not stay limited to the units you start with. Tactics are the battles. If you dislike basebuilding, you dislike strategy; if all you want are battles with no e
you could of course go with an initial set up phase which had different mechanics start with 200 points Each base building costs a different amount you purchase them in advance (maybe with a look at the map, maybe not) You can set them down before the game starts Points could also be spent on units or resources That then allows you to jump into the game 2 minutes in, when it starts to get interesting.&

Well playing RTS with or without building bases is a personal preference. I like bases. I really liked DoW, I hated DoW2. I have played most good base building RTS games made so far (all the way from Dune 2). At the moment Starcraft 2 is the best amongst them (for me). Both Singleplayer and multiplayer. Although those 2 minutes in the start seem like you do nothing that is not true. Many games you take some of those starting workers and build your buildings some

I would LOVE a RPG like BG2, even if it is not as large as that game. Of course with more modern graphics and animations :) Actually making a combat system as complex as Magicka but with levels and equipment gathering and a real story and a serious world would be cool. For fighters queuing up combination would activate a combo of attacks. Like for fighters you could combine different kind of attacks and combinations with shields and punches and kicks.

Also things like children taking over the kingdom after sovereign gets killed outside of borders would be great as well as not all cities going Puff when we kill him/her.
