It should cost food as food is the most limiting factor in city spam. The bug is probably only not saying it costs so on the build card.

Isn't D20 OGL? Why can't we use that for combat? :D WOM has been in development for years now (game+patches) and they still don't have a clue how to do a good combat system. It would be best to use a already established balanced one or go super simple like Civilization.
For those who have Witcher 2, how does it compare to DA: Origins? I'm going through the first Witcher and I'm finding the world and characters very wooden and 1-dimensional (at least compared to Origins). For example, I find Geralt's 'badass vibe' a little suffocating...How good is Witcher 2 from this point of view?
It is a different game, at least in combat. Both witchers got a fast clicky combat with one chara
Actually the one I am playing is pretty good in that department (UFO Afterlight). Reticulans (the little grey ones) are a splinter group from their planet so they are not as powerful. Then you meet Beastmen who are not that much advanced then humans and they use Martian warpgate technology to come to your area. Martians (little green men :D) are met later when you got plenty of high tech to be on equal terms (and they are not in big numbers due to cryosleep) and then you meet the main Reticul
Well on normal game speed game seconds are supposed to be equal to real seconds and fastest speed makes everything faster. The only logical reason that I can come up with why it is different is the skill difference. Pros will be used to different seconds, while scrubs will not and it is another thing which gives advantage to pros.
I would says the biggest difference is that combat is real time with the option to pause at any time. Combat works in terms of time, any action costs some time to do in real time instead of action points like x-com games. It makes fights a bit more fair but less tactical at the same time. In addition to lack of destructible terrain the first two games also miss an ability to enter buildings. The 3rd games fixes that.
When you turn on ingame timer it shows you game time which changes depending on game speed. But you should always test with fastest because that is ladder speed.
No, I would say Zerg is underdeveloped. It just lacks options that are easily available to other two races. And it is less fun to play with because of it. I am really hoping the next expansion fixes this or I am probably going to quit SC2 (at least playing it, watching tournaments is much more fun then watching other sports)
The game is fun (Afterlight) but looks like I fracked myself. I lack metal because early on I traded metal for crystals with reticulans but now I cannot reverse this trade and I cannot find any more metal mines around me :( I am losing so much production time on multiple critical things because of this :(
The same company is working on a RPG as well.
Why is this topic so empty while this awesome show is being shown? :( Especially after the last episode it needs to be talked about :)
Heh, after reading this thread I went out and got myself UFO: Afterlight (I remember playing part one of this series and always wanted to play part 3 as well). And had a lot of UFO fun over this weekend :D
In bronze league of Sc2 you can win with even more ways then any other RTS.... come a bit higher and you will actually play against good players. Now the question is who did you play against in Sins and if anyone even bothered to really find out the most effective tactics of Sins (those players I am sure didn't bother to win in multiple ways but just WIN). I play online multiplayer in sins, I am one of those brutal players wh
Yes, 3 queens is basically a must if you do not like losing to early Terran or Protoss air.
Still, sometimes the problem DOES lie with the game. If there is one 'unit' or strategy what is clearly better than everything else, you can hardly blame players for using it. And it's not just video games, it's anything. Anyone who played Magic the Gathering during the Mirrodin days can tell you about the Affinity deck. The deck was so strong in the standard tournament environment that it frequently
The reason Starcraft II is popular is because Starcraft was and is popular, not because it's a good game. Blizzard already had Starcraft II's eSport scene ready to go before the game was made, and it's that eSport scene and Corporate backing that's keeping the game alive. Left to it's own devices, it wouldn't be nearly as popular as Blizzard pretend.
You are completely right. And the 5
Is that 38 real seconds or 38 game seconds on fastest speed?
I've had SC2 for around a month now, and my only real complaint about the game overall is that Roaches seem a teeny bit more powerful than they should be. (I assume they are supposed to be the Zerg version of the Marauders, so I get they neet to be tough, but 8-12 Marines(In bunkers) should do a bit more damage than they do when focus-fireing one. As for the game overall, I really like most of the campaign (Som
Yay, you won against AI :D I started to play in Beta and was very happy when I started winning against AI 1v1 regularly :D Then I got to ladder and got destroyed in my first game in a most unexpecting way (cloaked banshee rush vs toss :D). But after playing 200-300 games I got to mid/high diamond and 90 apm with Zerg. Anyways, play more and you will eventually become much better. I also wanted to talk about the "unnecessar
Well SC2 2v2 and 3v3 and 4v4 is not balanced for competitive play but it is really fun for casual play, much more then 1v1.
DOW2 is a much better game IMO.
Well this is a subjective opinion. It comes down to what you prefer more. Having few supertroops fighting each other for longer periods of time, or having a balanced macro/micro game with fast dying troops that ask you to get the most out of them in their lifetime.
@ Timmaigh: Also the game has a nice challenge system that teaches you some basics about the game. Try to finish all challenges (and try to finish them as best as possible). The campaign is the best of any RTS game ever. Well the story is second best to Starcraft 1, but the missions are just a blast with each one being very different from others (unlike most RT
Well in my country (Croatia) we do not have this yet, but for years now we have been paying extra money for each CD and DVD we buy as a tax money that goes to the publishing industry. They call it anti-piracy tax or some similar bullshit.
Well both Sins and SupCom are slow games compared to SC2. And you are used to those slow games. Unlike them SC2 rewards you once you become faster and better because you do feel faster and better. You can see the improvement in your game. And Strategy is there, it is just not as simple as build troops and move them towards the enemy (when you really start to learn the game it is extremely complex where one small mistake can cost you a game at top
IMHO I think they should release pre-Beta versions of FE with some kind of Report option built into that (maybe even at Engine level). Ya know... something like "Microsoft Error reporting" but instead of waiting for a crash there would be a nice "BUTTON!" you can press. Once you press it a window opens where you can type your comment on the Bug/Flaw/Bad Feature you don't like and send it to a central "Bugs Database". Insid
