Well, I hope that all features that don't make it into FE get into the 2nd FREE expansion that was promised to E:WoM buyers ;) Things like factions being not all humanoid but like in Master of Magic :D

That was the cause of half of these problems. Very poor decision making on their part. If only that was the extent of it. First it was that. Then it was that every time they patched it I had to download at least 9 gig

I still consider Birth of the Federation best 4x space game. Especially if you are into MP part of these games.

I launched the game a few days ago only to find out they've converted it to a new system and I had to redownload 8 gigs or something. And the patch process didn't work, so now I have to download another 15 gigs. ****, if any of my other games were handled this badly I'd need a new hobby. (Obviously I wouldn't be this mad

All this sounds awesome. I like how you put in a real tech tree. I kind of consider myself a part of that one as I was saying you should put that in all the time in my bashes on E:WoM :D Anyways, it does look like we will get a disease from FE, the non-sleeping one :D
My daughter just spent 3 whole months playtesting the Heroes VI beta and posting on the Ubisoft forum. Not taking in consideration a few general statements made by one Ubisoft representative, once every 2 weeks, she never saw one of the game's actual developers reply on that forum. People posted tons of bug reports and feedback : they never received one single word of response or comment from any of the French and Hungarian develope

Epic troll this voodoo dude. He puts up another rant and then says in the end he is gone. LOL, got to love people that are never wrong... they always make me laugh.

Campaigner has great suggestion, I agree with everything except maybe Battlemechanics part. Age of wonders had a superior battlemechanics to MoM, but I would rather have battlemechanics more similar to HoMM (without stacks of same units). But for sure, more special abilities you can create for units in fight the game is better.

For what it was, Nexus was amazing, it was also some pretty good sci-fi, My only complaint is that they lost the normal newtonian model too fast once you got... what you got... (don't want to spoiler anyone). I hope Nexus gets it's sequel! One of the most underrated games of the last 10 years, imo.
I am not taking about story/sandbox/railroad. I am talking about g

@ voodoochile123 : Lol, your rants are funny. But I am not sure you would recognize an RPG if it hit you in the head. Yes, witcher 2 has a needlessly complicated combat system that is not fun enough to warrant as much complication, but the game is a true RPG never the less. It still has levels, you can still improve your character in different ways (have to replay to try other

This is exactly the kind of dev journal I have been asking for, something to address one of the big information gaps on FE - the strategic / realm management stuff. Sounds like some major changes from WoM, many of which I have been playing with modding in. Thanks for saving me the work! Interesting discussion on build queues. I'm fine with one queue, as long as we can paus

If done well (Deus Ex way) this would be an awesome game. If it is going to be just a simple FPS in futuristic setting then it will probably suck. Except playing anything with 3 friends online is fun :D
Quoting Kamamura_CZ, reply 79Well, the game also looks like an ugly street urchin, compared to Witcher 2. BTW what combat system? Chronicles of Riddick had a good combat system - you could make various attacks, you could block, you could counter.Mount and Blade has a combat system. Combat systems are about timing, blocking, dodging, and attack variety. All this is absent from the game, it's close combat is identical to Pacman. <

I like this a lot. You could also add a cool mechanic for an evil faction. They could sacrifice one unit of rebels and for a while turn all rebels in that city to useful members of local population, but after that time passes, one unit of farmers or workers becomes a rebel. It essentially gives you an increased production for a while but that city loses one unit of useful population (also, the city does not get more population until rebels don't turn into rebels again).

Hmm, #1 is a great goal, but in reality I don't see you achieving it. I would like to be positively surprised. I hope you surprise me :) Anyways, I wanted to jump on your words in the first part of the text where you say #1 strategy game but later you say #1 fantasy turn-based strategy game :D New Sword of the Stars looks like it will be way better strategy game then FE, and there are a couple of fantasy strategy games coming out as well that by their previe

But the game still let you be there, it didn't isolate the encounter in a cinematic, and you could still do certain things out of order, even if it was just for the sake of keeping up the illusion of freedom. It even gave you the option to deal with certain fixed issues, like bossfights, the way y

I would say Baldur's gate 2 was much better then BG1. One can argue the same for Diablo 2 over Diablo 1. And HoMM 3 was certainly better then HoMM2.
