I actually played this version for a lot longer then most other versions but what killed me in the end was that I was exploring like crazy and everything was so empty. I found like up to 10 "goody huts", 1 quest hut, 3 food resources, 1 iron, 1 gold and 3 shards (and 2 refugee camps) and all of that on a fair sized area (was exploring with a small group of sovereign+champion+familiar+golem and 2x1 wanderers). Even the monsters were mostly avoiding me. What had to keep the fun for me w

1. So is 1.3 going to have the long promised tactical initiative system? You been talking about this for 5-6 months. 2. Also can you please fix next problem in tactical (if there is no initiative system implemented because in that case it does not matter): Animations sometimes are a bit long (especially when casting spells) so while it is running I would click on the next guys I want to attack with and he would get selected. As soon as I can I would click with him on the target but th

Combat does not have to be turn based but just a good tactical combat with different options (better then DAO1&2 please). Completely avoid level scaling, and having combat be about enemies just having more and more HP (again like DAO had). Having ToEE combat will not work as D&D license is in another company hands. But it is not that hard to do a good tactical combat, action point/percentage system can always work well, even if it is not turn based (unless is it made f

What you didn't write here is did you have fun while playing it? As example, for me DA2 was stupid and too console like and I did finish it but I cannot say I had a lot of fun and that is what is important in the end.

As far as classic RPG games go they are not good because we think of them fondly. They are just good. Today they are still good if you can make yourself play with "bad" graphics. But what was said about more people playing DA2 then BG2 is true as today there are a lot more gamers then back then. Luckily there are still companies that make great games like The Witcher 2 and Starcraft 2 (and hopefully Diablo III).

I found this description of DA2 on official forums to perfectly mirror my feelings about this game: http://social.bioware.com/forum/Dragon-Age-II/Dragon-Age-II-General-Discussion-No-Spoilers-allowed/A-detailed-look-on-DA2-and-CRPG039s-6561302-1.html

I am at the point in the game where I just want to end it as combat and encounter design and level reuse is so nerve wracking and boring. I didn't even buy it and I am not ashamed to say it. I will not buy it even if it costs 5$ and if I could not pirate it I would not buy it either and would just do something else (like play DDO or NWN2 which I plan to play after this again). Also after this game I will be even more careful about Kotor MMO. If it even smells like

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Dawn of War II. These are just the few that I've played. Starcraft II's story is the weakest story Blizzard have ever told, however it features the highest production values Blizzard have ever produced.
I am sorry, but only Sta

Well I didn't say I hate it. I have stopped playing different games for different reasons in the past (Elemental being one of them). DA2 so far is good enough to finish once (and the lack of other good games helps) although I am getting pretty bored with it. Anyways, I really like party based RPG games, that is why I said I cannot wait to play NWN2 after DA2 because combat system in DA2 is really baaaad and I do want to forget it as soon as possible and the best way to do that i
Blizzard figured this out long ago; the flawed Starcraft II scored nearly universal 9s and 10s despite a garbage single player story and sterile multiplayer environment because they took their time to make it feel polished. Ultimately, I read forums rather than reviews these days. Unless the game is an Activision Blizzard game or a FPS, it's community is going to be non-toxic enough to be able to ascertain the actual quality of the

I only like two things in this game. 1. The skill&ability tree is much more nicer and better then DAO (especially having lots of tactics slots without needing to put points into a skill which was always so nonsensical to me in DAO to need to spend character points to improve a game/UI mechanic). I like how now you got all numbers explained and abilities make more sense as well as different classes having unique talent trees. 2. I like how the years pass in the story,

To me this is less strange then what some others do in Starcraft 2. SC2 has a group of people that farm achievements. What they do is as soon as the game starts they send all their drones/probes/scvs to attack. If they win good, if they lose they just quit and repeat this until they have 1000 wins with each race + random. Some of them even found a way to abuse the matchmaking system to get to play against friends so they can set up to win more often. The funniest thing is achi

Personally I didn't like Dragon Age 1 very much. Compared to most of other RPGs what came out recently it was better but I am still waiting to play RPG games as good as BG1&2 and PS:T or F1&2. This game will be even worse.

If the price of the game was normal, personally I would never pay additionaly for a standard feature as MP. Actually bullshit like this would make me pirate that game just to send a message. And actually, since I bought EWoM and was promised next two expansions for free and then I would need to pay for a basic functionality like MP this would be the last Stardock game I would ever buy.

@ alborrelli: Look at it this way. It is awesome as SD boys could have just cut their loses and gave up on EWoM altogether (and I am sure that was on their mind). After who knows how long the game is not yet even stable. It is lacking content and "fun". Many parts are badly designed (I do not mean graphically although many places could use that as well) like tech and spells and di
