I've noticed a couple of weird things this build where I'm walking in enemy outpost zoc's and such and I can't talk to them. Was wondering what the triggers are to "see" each other? It just doesn't make sense to be wandering around in their territory and can't chat. It makes sense FOW prohibits chatting but the outposts pierce the FOW - plus there's little dudes in those outposts, they gotta be telling someone something. Unless they're hippies, which alot

I don't like the current mechanic at all. I welcome a change here.
Thanks for the input. Other thing I'm considering is the video card. Currently have the original non-modular 425W power supply with the following card (dxdiag info): Card name: ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Chip type: ATI display adapter (0x9501) DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz) Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9501&SUBSYS_25421028&REV_00 Display Memory: 2264 MB Dedicated Memory: 506 MB Shared Mem
I have a Dell XPS 420 with 4GB (4x1) but MB is expandable to 8GB (4x2). Recently upgraded to Win 7 64 from Vista 32 and am wondering if I would get substantial improvement by going to 8GB. I recently upgraded to a SATA II SSD dedicated to the OS (lovin' that improvement). Thoughts? It would be ~$50 or so to go to 6GB or ~$100 to go to 8GB. I run dual monitors and like to do a little multitasking - playing games (Fallen Enchantress), surfing the web, mail, Excel,
I have the same problem. When I make the changes to start modding, the tress go away.
I'm a sad panda because it's happening in vanilla - started with last build, clean install.
Derek - just bumpin' this. Tried everything, can't get the darn shrubbery to come back. I like growing things, I miss them.
Derek - completed the quest and in the end, I got the mount. But the timing of the quest events and dialog boxes was all out of whack. The dialog boxes weren't in order and they would proceed to next steps without letting the user read the progression.
I am noticing cloth map stutter problems as well - in addition, I've lost forests/swamps on the 3d map (they still show on cloth).
Derek - I like how items in inventory can be used from strategic map. I wasn't able to use Altar's quest item from the strategic map option, but I was able to enter my sov's inventory screen and use it from there.
Derek - you may want to look at the Tornado spell. I cast it on a Hoarder Spider stack and I think they need ruby red slippers - they went poof.
Janusk undercover!
Derek - looks like this build broke something regarding my forest and swamp tiles - they no longer appear in the strategic map (but are on cloth). Now, a couple of weeks ago I had the same problem when I tried to install HF's rivermod - uninstall of the mod fixed the problem. For this instance, I just did a fresh install of 0980 on a new primary drive - so the problem appears to be vanilla. <a href="https://dl.dropbox.com/u/19969679/Fallen%20Enchantress/0980/debug_missingforest.err"
Went from Vista 32 bit to Win 7 64 2 weeks ago... and now added an SSD for the OS. I'm in heaven!
How about a world setting for construction speed? I would probably play it with a lower speed than most, to enhance the feeling of trade-offs between buildings. That way, only the relative construction speed between buildings needs to be balanced and the rest is up to the tastes of the player.
I want sliders for other sliders! Cool - second the essence thing at level up. Glad it will be added.
I will definitely follow this - enjoying reading your playthroughs, I always learning something. [e digicons]:andrew:[/e]
That looks awesome.
I started one up last night. Insane world difficulty, dialed back the faction AI to expert. Struggling to clear the mobs around my area and having to make some hard choices. For me at least, thumbs up. With that said haven't approached anywhere near midgame yet. I'm optimistic. Love the fonts, etc. Looks way more polished.
Wow - just had a damaged Air Shrill move out of direct combat so the others could soak up the damage. Impressed.
This is intended. I don't necessarily agree with it, however. What I do is take all the cities over and ensure on the last one, the sov is out of the city at the time. Then I make them surrender. Only way to grab all the cities and gain the sov. If you're super picky, grab all the outposts too and then do it. I'd rather control of all outposts and cities switch when the sov surrenders but I'm not calling the shots. [e digicons]:D[/e]
If HF is correct, makes sense to me XP gained should not scale with difficulty.
They are disabled on 32bit systems to save memory. We should have greyed out the option and had the mouseover say that, rather than just hiding the option. Pedestrians take up over 200 meg of memory and we didn't want to risk 32bit people being unable to finish their games because of memory issues.
