They took down the site, which locked everyone who had bought things in the past from downloading. In that sort of a situation, you have an obligation to tell your existing customers the truth. If Impulse had to go down for 48 hours for some technical reason, Frogboy would give us an explanation and an apology, not some half-assed marketing stunt. When you're running an internet service, you either treat outages as the serious impact to your customers that they are, or yo
It would be nice to be able to see how much experience a hero has, how much they've gained in a battle, and how close they are to leveling.
Ummm, there is exp bar in vitals. Just hower your mouse over it, and it will show how much exp hero has and how much he needs to achieve new level.
For example, currently there's some discussion over "stacks of doom" whether or not to have them. Is this moddable? Can every unit be retooled to occupy a square exclusively, so that some units will stack, while others won't?
Nope. Even when stack is full, you can still move into same square and have 2, 3, 4 and so on stacks there. EWoM is actually quite limited in terms of modding, since it does not support arbitrary scripting yet, and XML is just data, which
Tachyon
Oh, someone else still remembers that. I played multiplayer in tachyon for several years, untill people stopped coming online at all. I loved ship movement and controls there, made me always wonder why all these newer simulators could not implement same 'keep turning to pointer' mode rather than 'keep pointer in the center' b-shit. Tried to find some good space sim month ago, seems there wasn't anything worthy released at all. Well, there is X3,

Most of buildings don't have maintenance, and ones which do are % bonuses for cities with according resource nodes. Sure you should not build % bu

Finally got some time to play it. Awesome game overall, definitely best of 2010. Got some crashes in late game on huge map. I hope Firaxis will fix these soon, because autosave is not saving often enough. Starting locations suck. I regenned like 30 times and didn't find anything I'd actually like. Settled on med-sized island on continents map in the end.
Dude, that's not much of a comparison. Just about every 4x game ever released is better than MOO3.
Well, I personally loved it. It wasn't that bad, just it got dogpiled upon release due to few minor issues. Maybe its just cause I skipped MoO2 and and went directly from MoO, but I didn't notice any gamebreaking issues in it. It was fun to play.

Thats good idea actually, and not only for EWoM, such DB could be cross-game one, listing all "free" assets to use. Should not be hard to develop one, altho I'm quite limited on my time right now myself.

It still crashes with OOM errors on large maps after few turns in late games. And no, its neither ATI nor 64 bit nor Vista. nVidia card, Win7.

You cannot gather large mounted army in no time, it takes over 20 turns to get enough wargs for ONE squad even with

Current HP bonus on regular units levelup is very disappointing. It makes no incentive to levelup units and keep them alive. Please, add some more meaning to the levels system, as any other fantasy 4X does. Its okay to have it automated, w/out according dialog, but let them increase different stats and acquire some special abilities. Lvl15 squad SHOULD be different from lvl1, they are hardy veterans after all. Maybe also chance to upgrade their weapons/armor from loot?

Either mundane (explosive, armor piercing) or magical.
Arrows would require some mechanics changes, while adding cbows is simply adding new models and according xml. Altho having ammo is good idea, with different costs and amounts. So you could have more 'generic' ammo or less amount but more deadly ammo for example.

Well, disappointment - yes, 'flop' - no. Its like the only game I actually waited to be released in second part of the year (first was dedicated to waiting for DF 2010), and was following dev journal for a while. Brad's posts tricked me into believing that EWoM would be most awesome fantasy 4X to the date, and, well, it wasn't. Altho I don't think game is dead yet. There's still a chance that expansions will hit the FUN spot and become something worth playing over and over. Pl
Is there a point in questing ?
Definitely. Dragon is most awesome unit, it can wipe all enemies singlehandedly on turn one with his abilities.
How does essence work when you imbu someone : is it shared ?
No. You transfer essence from sov to champion. Champion becomes channeler himself and can raise his essence. Sov loses these essence points permanently.
but I play empire and there is a spell to teleport in enemy territory. I can even tell you that it must have been added with a certain superficialty , since its description is erroneously identical to that of the regular "spirit dance" spell which is the empire spell for teleporting.
Well, that one is obviously wrong thing to have, if not bug at all. Teleporting to arbitrary location is definitely too game breaking.
Having a bow or sword doesn't reduce your defence or movement and mounted units are not always light cavalry. Since the game has detailed unit customisation, it shouldn't apply arbitrary modifiers to make the model work, it needs to use weapons and armour with specific modifiers that reflect what their real advantage is. ...
QFT. Having mounts to reduce attack is ridiculous. Mounts in fact increase it by giving you charge speed, increasing impact stre

Uhh, you know that teleport works only within your own area of influence, right? So it does not affect your intricate defences anyhow. Enemy cannot just 'jump' at you, it will have to move from his influence in normal way.
