Civilization 4 had some serious problems at launch that took several patches and expansions to completely sort out (and even then there are still some outstanding quirks that Civ fanatics grumble about to this day). Sid Meier's Railroads needed a patch to address performance issues that made it virtually unpla

But AAR are hardly unique to Dominion, you'll find them on every major 4x/Strategic game with High replayability... Have a look at Dwarven Fortress! Correct me if i'm wrong, but Dwarf Fortress has permanent death ? The game deffinitely has roguelike roots, but I didn't want to mention these games as to not scare people away. I really enjoy roguelikes.

Once you research the appropriate level of tech, it reveals all of the hidden resources on the map. For gold mines there would be 2 levels of invisibility, one for the first upgrade and one for the empire-only second upgrade.
So like in Civ IV? I actually like that, but I also like
Quoting Phazon88, reply 5I would be surprised if this did not happen in Elemental eventually. It would fit in so naturally with the Adventure side of the game. It would require a fair bit of work creating dungeons for specific quests so it sounds like it'd be an expansion feature rather than something in a free update. As Frogboy mentioned it, free update material.
[e digicons][/e] I must ha
Bought Borderlands yesterday, I must admit it is a lot more cheap fun than I first thought! If you like Diablo like loot and mindless roaming/killing you should give it a shot! The balistic system is quite good, for a game that tries to link weapon performance to character level (initally bullets are quite slow). 7/10, add +2 if you're blessed with some likely minded friends, because Multiplayer is VERY fun!
Do you know what AAR stands for ? After Action Report. It's fairly unique to Dominions serries. People write stories of their empires, and it often reads like fanfiction. Because the game is so epic in scale and so varied, and lack of reload means a story can have a bad ending, they are interesting to the end. They have a whole subforum just for AARs.
Errr... Guys, I just want to say you're all splendid, really! (just 30 here, but I have some respect for experience and old gamers)
Well, I'm positive many of the peoples around think that Elemental HAS a lot of potential. But potential is not enough. The armoire standing behind me has the POTENTIAL energy to kill me, but a reasonable, directed force is needed to start a reaction... For example, as you say many of the effects we're describing could be doable by a skilled modder, but then would the AI be able to use them? Probably not. I repeat what I feel most, it's not the si

Yes, quests are sorely lacking both in number and depth. In my last game, I actually counted them, I found the alchemist lab 13 times!!! Edit: 13 times, not 23, sorry!
