still not playing the game again until they implement this.
I bet the OP has Highly researched Diplomacy and Retarded does not and that Diplomacy changes the trade ratios... Dollars for donuts I'm guessing thats what's going on.
would take a lot of refining to put trades in the green. there has to be some other value modifiers involved.
i was messing around with AI trading. I went from Faction to faction to see if there was anyway to make any gold off of excess resources, nada. then i went to the minor factions. i thought "hey, they don't have any resourcese, they will give me top dollar for this stuff!" I was right, they valued resources higher than any faction did(still not much). but then i went to ask for gold to pay for all the goodies i was offering. the AI valued its 900gp at 22,50
you would send them to the afterlife without weapons? without their trusted steed? heathen!
it doesnt work. AI buys back at 1/5 the price that it sells. buying 24,809gp - selling back 5,407 gp.
oh god. the nerdity.
common complaint. hopefully the combat system will be a lot better after the next patch.

technically you can. but in reality no, you cant. never saw an AI that would give squat for materials or more than 1gp each for crystals and horses. i did get a fair price for metal once but thats it (the other AIs all had enough metal that they wouldnt give me anything) real trade at set rates would be an excellent improvement to minor factions.

You dont have to be naked to look like a woman Exactly, and I think the real thrust of this thread is exactly that. bug: make sure you click "OK" when you are finished selecting the amount of gold. if you don't, the amount will be listed on the barter table, but it wiill not register.
people tend to forget that this isnt a tbs-strategy/wargame. its a tbs-strategy/wargame with fantasy rpg elements. which means if you want better equipment, you have to do it the fantasy rpg way: kill monsters. one of my favorite features of the game. HOWEVER, i do agree that city economies need a boost (or equipment prices need to come down). taxes: you only hate them until you cannot force your imaginary citizens to pay them.

I'm just noticing a housekeeping issue I guess. If the intent in not allowing replies to certain threads in the developer forums is to not have comments on the remarks isn't it a bit counter productive to copy the entire post into a new thread and then let people reply? Wouldn't it be easier to keep the t
yes it is but any valid point you had went out the window when you implied their reasoning was stupid.. My concern with this is can the AI at a later date choose a wife or did they hard code one in as a solution?
i am willing to admit that my sarcasm turned caustic and i apologize for that.
criticism is healthy. learning how to deal with criticism is an important life skill. i criticize because i care. now quit being such big babies. now if this thread asked "how can i alter the values of the AI so that they can arrange their own marriages later in the game rather than from the start?" I would have replied, "the AI was not designed to do that and therefore code would have to be written to change it. Unfortunately, modders don't
Quoting thisisretarded, reply 1 why would you do that? Should be obvious that it's dumb that the AI cheats in that regard. It has children by turn 30. It should be on equal footing with the player. If I had only the sovereign, I can't enter combat mode at all. All the fighting takes place automatically on the map. To compensate, my sovereign hit the enemy so hard he flew backwards and landed in the next square. Not bad for a spellcaster. When I have more characters, I can enter combat mode as usual, and this time I made it up to level 3 without
