There's a small "ZZZZ" displayed next to the city icon on the far left of the screen but yea, it's kinda easy to miss. On the other hand, sometimes you want your city to be idle(there are specific city bonuses that only work for idle cities) and having a prominent pop-up come up every turn could become annoying.

As i see it, the reason why AI armies yield so little XP compared to monsters is that there's an endless stream of AI armies to fight. If the XP would be the same, you could get to insane levels by leaving the enemy AI cities alone and just farming a bottleneck through which he keeps sending army after army. Monsters on the other hand are either an one-time deal, or a very slow spawn if you leave a lair alone, so the XP can be a lot higher without upsetting game balance.

Even if they are made aware that the AI is better at higher difficulties, they will probably not go over challenging, since that's where the AI i
75 metascore, because enemy player AI is no match for a human player still. (I wish the world difficulty was set to insane by default, that way reviewers probably wouldn't find out :p) 60 userscore, because metacritic is full of zero-score-review trolls. For me, it's a solid 85 with potential to grow even higher.

It's one of the most unique games produced in the last decade, ffs. COD is a conveyor belt game. Not XCOM.

If your city has a lot of essence, city enchantments that add +1 fire damage/essence, +hitpoint/essence and +defense/essence to trained units will make even early units very powerful. For instance a basic militia unit built in a 4-essence(with scrying pool) city enchanted with 'heart of fire' will do almost twice the damage of a normal militia unit (5blunt+4fire vs just 5blunt). It makes early game easier, and since the units tend to survive fights much better, they gain levels and la

Largest possible. On a related topic: There was a map generator for war of magic, called Elementerra IIRC, that allowed me to pre-create a map to play on, and it was possible to create very large maps. I absolutely loved to play on those. Would it be possible to include an option for such large maps with Fallen enchantress? Even if it is not part of the normal game UI(i understand huge maps can be detrimental to game performance so you may not want people choosi

A game which i actively played for some 100-120 hours cannot possibly be a flop. Flawed, yes, and with lots of untapped potential, but fun and addictive nonetheless, much more so than many AAA titles i played this year were. But since you refer to 'after all the discussion' in your original post, and not 'after all the time i spent playing it'...
[quote]Elemental: War of Magic will never make big bucks. That original PC Gamer UK article killed us commercially - before a single review hit. You might want to call HP, get a techie on phone and describe the problem to him. Chances are he already encountered that and knows what is broken/how to fix it. Nothing to lose asking.

1: Never took any equipment, doesn't make sense to spend permanent points for temporary benefit. But then i am always playing large games, it might make sense on very small maps. 2, 3: Royalty and adventurer are mutually exclusive, you cant take both. I usually go with adventurer, because i believe royalty is broken (instead of adding one point of prestige, it doubles prestige), and because adventurer is still useful to my offsprings should they inherit it(same reason i
