I remember reading one person that completed the full 10000 turns or whatever that the game allows. You're right that they are next to useless, however those clubs are very cheap(3g) to upgrade to hammers when you research weapon technology. So i just build a couple of those and have the sovereign take them into easy battles to get them experience. When i get them leather armor, shields and h

It's a very good game. You will need to give it some time before it 'clicks' but after that it only gets better and better.

If I add all of those traits as you guys suggests, it takes me 28 turns (spear and leather armor included). That feels insanely slow. To build units faster, make sure you have a city with good production. This means fou
when reordering the build queue for a city, there's no way to move stuff to different pages of the build queue .
There is. But it's a bit wonky. There are 5 slots on the first page of the build queue. If you put a 6th item into the queue, it will be placed into the second page of the queue. Now, you can drag the 6th item over the 'left arrow' that is used to go to the first page of queue. This wi

IIRC, master of magic handled powerful overland spells by the way of giving them a several-turns cast time, informing other players the spell is being cast(through the means of a detect magic spell, i think) and give them an opportunity to try and counteract the spell.

Ran into it recently, so it's still in 1.02. But now that Iru Elixirs are around and Butchermen can multiply themselves, I actually chose to recruit the Butcherman instead. It paid off, the creepy bugger practically won the game for me, but that was rushing my enemies on

Maybe it was the other players that made contact with the locked one somehow? Flying units, revealing territory through magic, cloudwalk etc... But TBH, it does seem that the AI sometimes gets contact with each other under suspicious circumstances. Once i started in the middle of the map(i always play on large) and a road through the middle of my first city appeared within the early turns, disappearing in the fog of war on opposite sides - it seemed they could not have made contact th

Never saw anything like that. However there is a small bug where the name of the current building project displayed above the city does not change until the next turn after you rearrange the queue. Meaning, If the city is building barracks, then the city nameplate says 'barracks', then you reorder the queue so it is now building a militia, but the nameplate still says barracks until you press end turn. The production of the city for that turn correctly goes towards milit

One thing i did not see mentioned in this thread: When the game generates the world, it always places less dangerous monsters close to the player, and more and more dangerous ones as you move away from your starting location. Its a difficulty progression that makes sense. The problem is, this is not true for the computer players, as there simply is not enough space on the map to allow for a 'safe zone' around every starting location an
