It saddens me to say this, but this game makes me think of Spore. Not in similarity of design, but of something that tries to be a lot of things at the same time, but ends up being shallow in most places... Part civilization, Part X-com, Part Heroes of might and magic.... yea If SD comes through and adds meat on the bones, the game could rock big time. But as it is, i played it for a couple of days, then havent played it since then

Out of the blue my impulse password isnt valid and when i go into my account info (the link you get when you ask to reset your password) it doesnt recognize my password as valid.
Repost of my suggestion for the direction id like to see elemental being taken for expansions ----- Ive been playing this game for 2 days straight. Its a bit lacking in polish, but it great nonetheless and could turn into something big if the modding aspect really takes off. As i play this game, i have a feeling more and more that although the software is a game
Saturday afternoon bump, cuz thats where i would like to see elemental being taken next!
When a city levels up, the game asks you to pick which bonus you want to assign to it. But if you dont remember each town crystal clear, then you are forced to choose between say, tech and arcane knowledge. Then if your guess was wrong, and you assigned gold bonus to a town that produces tech, then you have to rollback to an earlier save to pick the right upgrade. Maybe dont lock the screen when the upgrade window pops up so we can click on cities and verify which upgrade we want.
Bumping this again, im crashing every time i try to launch the tactical battle map editor, are we alone on the same boat?
Heroes of Newerth is a fun game, although there is only 1 map and community is a bit dumb and is entrenched in the position that there can only ever be one map for the game. 5vs5 based on a warcraft3 mod, you level up your character and buy items. Lots of characters to pick from. The game will be 10 times better with new maps (editor isnt out after 3months) but i played the same map for 6 months, so i think it says alot about how fun the core of the game is.
Still looking to confirm that the tactical battle editor doesnt work or its an issue i have.
In the first version we got on the 23rd, i used to be able to pick colors for the equipement when i designed units. I clearly remember making archers with +dmg with a red cape. Now i cant pick colors at all it seems, am i missing something?
Yeah I'm having a fantastic time . I suspect its just some folks with hokey PC setups pointing the flaming finger at the developers first thing. One game in the entire world runs super well on almost all PC types, you'd think that given that only one game does that folks wouldn't expect every game to. But what can you do?
Please, there is crash issues all around, i like t
I criticize, but at the same time i agree with OP. Even with the crashes, the poorly explained techs and all, ive had more fun in this game than any in recent memories. I have to pretty much love a game to keep hitting the .exe when it crashes 5 times in an hour lol. It has great potential and i hope the rough release is not going to hurt SD too much because we need more people who think like Brad, if we dont want to play games with no depth like McRPG3: Corporate Sword of shanana until the e
The question people should be asking is ... Why do reviewers judge a game when it comes out? I believe many of these people believe that a game should be nearly complete when it comes out.
The problem is, im cool with financing works in progress which i think have potential, i did it with Fallen Earth and mount and blade. But one is a MMO and the other openly stated you were paying for a beta, whi
That review echoes my sentiments very well, huge potential if emphasis is put on modding tools so that modding can take off, CTDs are stomped and general polish is added.
Good job, ive been trying to mess around with particle editor, but no matter what i touch, effect screen stays empty =/
Then why the fuck are you buying a civ/heroes of MM/ Master of magic style game? One more thread in the garbage bin lol
Please, any feedback on this? Should i just leave it alone since everyone crashes? or its a system-specific issue?
I crash alot as well. Its not as bad as you but can get as bad as 5 times per hour. Its sad to see SD do a rush job like this most likely to come out before civ5 but these are some of the consequences, people pissed off like this guy. At the same time, with stardock's track record, i still have faith that they will make things right.
Well I tried posting this earlier, but apparently some mod is cencoring the forums. Brief french review of Elemental
And i took the time to translate it, but it dissapeared as well..... 10sec translation: Says its a greatly unbalanced game that is part civ part HOMM. Says it has a couple of "rare" good ideas and the rest is shit. Only talks about the modding part of the game when
Did anyone get it to work at all?
First paragrah says on paper the ideas look good, a mix of civ and HOMM, with customizable units. 2nd paragrah says unfortunatly, stardock once again takes the wrong road and lose themselves. by giving us a game thats completely unbalanced, for example needing an army of melee units to beat a single mage and never exploring the rare good ideas that it has. It provides for more bugs than interest. Oh and its really bad too. The cherry on top is the multiplayer mode which
i think its equipment --> weapons --> ranged weapons
Lots of things need to be default tweaked. The auto-end turn with your last unit's move is one.
So right now I see a lot of people trying to ram down the OP's throat the idea that the game needs to have a more complex tactical system regardless of whether the OP likes it or not, yes? Please take note of the last line in the 1st paragraph up there in the OP, and accept that this person doesn't want a more complex system. There are also other players here and elsewhere who have said the same, and I don't think it's fair to belitt
Yep, it crashes for me as well if i dont check blank map and no objects. If i Check them, it loads a world map, not a tactical battle map.
I feel the same way, i made a suggestion that the dev directions for updates and expansions be all about modding, not to worry about content (campaigns) because that will be provided by the modders. Im more interested in seeing things like more tactical battle variables, more modding tools like large tile packs, creature editors, etc... My post with expansion suggestions: As i play this game, i have a feeling more and more that although the softwa
