Just about two-thirds of the way through one game on normal level, large world, playing as Pariden. My top stack came across a Forest Drake on top of its lair, two squares away from a level 4 Tarth city, and well within its area of influence. This would mean the lair has been there from the game's start, and in 346 turns never attacked the city. That really does need a bit of tweaking.

I'm still not showing the Battleplate of the Immortal with the .70 release. It remains a blank icon. Do I need to start a new game for it to appear? Enjoyable. As someone who up to now has played almost exclusively Pariden, it's interesting to see different approaches at work. When I set up a new sovereign, I go for a large world, since Pariden has a chance to really grow into their magic. I go for no spellbooks except Life Apprentice--which bit me in the ass on this current game, since as you know the Heal spell requires a Life Disciple, and she actually didn't get offered this until she reached level 10...!&nbs

The strategies are very varied, depending upon the ruler and faction you play, the size of the world, amount of magic, monsters, etc. For example, I've been focusing on Pariden. They play well in long games, and pioneers are used to grab shards, with cities providing food and research enhancements. I run them almost immediately up to Sorcery for the elemental books, but in small worlds it's important to develop the warfare tree at the same time. You remove tr

I think it all revolves around the definition of a "wandering monster." Presumably some are more directly aggressive, and others have different motivations in succession. But this is all speculation without evidence. I've lost cities to wandering monsters who go right for the carnage, and seen that other times the monster moves into my territory without doing much for a few turns. And they were not the same monster types.

I'll go through them all and make sure they're there. Thanks again. And I'd rather bugs get reported, obviously, than every player suffer the error.
You're welcome. And confirming your statement, I got another Battleplate of the Immortal which turned out to be like the headgear I mention

Another bug: Battle Plate of the Immortal popups up a description, but doesn't show up in any hero's inventory. Not to sweat the Reliquary. I'm enjoying the items very much. You've done an excellent job.

Enjoying the mod thoroughly--and in that context, I've two bugs to report: First, the Whisperhelm has no graphic attached to its file. It's a blank icon in the inventory, and when activated, turns whomever wears it, bald. Some would claim that's a feature, but I'm not so stylistically inclined. Second, following combat, the game's popup describes "loot" armor that doesn't show in the party's inventory after

Got a reward of a dusty book after a successful battle, but nothing showed up afterward in the inventory of anyone in my stack.

When these new betas or betafixes come down the pike, everybody starts playing at the same time, and the server's being checked. (Username and password are being checked only for the beta, to make sure it isn't getting out all over the place.) It's slow, and that's what happens. Happening to me, now, too. Just keep trying.

Since this is a matter of opinion, perhaps it would be useful to have user controls that let you determine the degree of randomness in the setup position. Or at least, a mod that does this. For myself, I would want a decent but not great starting position. If I can't get that, if I'm in the bottleneck Nathan E mentions (and I have been), I restart. If that happens to too many players, too often, that's a failure of that system within the ga

That being said, I agree they're a little too rare now, cause I have yet to see any after a few games (..maybe I should get a cat?).
That's an excellent point. I'd agree, it would be ni

Just curious. Found something like this thread for WoM, but not here. Me? I don't listen to the soundtrack. I like it, but like so many game soundtracks, after hearing any tune twice I can't get it out of what's left of my mind. I tend to go with either mainstream jazz, or Tudor choral music like Tallis or Taverner. Over to you.

I've pushed for something like what you point out in your city level-up interface (and the info about stats would be helpful on the hero level-up, too). So it's clearly a case of GMTA. :) Also, very nice presentation of it all, with a great many useful ideas.
