It really depends on many factors, such as world size, number of opponents, specific opponents, how much mana there is, etc. You wouldn't find Expansionist too useful with a magic wielder who can access all spellbooks, and a bonus to summoning wouldn't help someone who's real benefit lies in churning cheap melee troops. Again, in a small world, magic users are at a disadvantage unless you ramp up mana, but in huge worlds, they can become pretty damn formidable.

Henchmen aren't broken. Played normally, they work just fine. If a person abuses the system, sure, they can break henchmen, but no one requires anybody to do so.

Shouldn't the equipment screen simply replace the info from details, though, when clicked on? As I recall, it did so in your previous versions. In any case, just rendering renaming the suffix worked. EDIT: Currently using 1366 x 768--just a bit too low for one of your higher models. And from there, I have to jump to 1600 x 900, which is just too small. Might give it a go, though. Thanks for the suggestion!

Perhaps I did something wrong, but when I click Equipment under my sovereign's popup screen, the Equipment is still completely overlaid by the Details info. I'm running a personalized sovereign, with your latest version, as well as CoS, BMB, and CB.
Long story short: if you want tactical damage casters, you want Fire 2 or Fire 3, Water 4, or Death 3/4/5 as your main (or main + secondary) magic path. If you want tactical support casters, you want Air 1/2/4, Water 1, Life 2/3/4, or Death 1/2/3 as your main (or main + secondary) magic path. If you're looking for strategic support, Water + Earth can more or less lock down an army indefinitely (note that these do not need to be on the same caster, and that 2 Water casters or 2 Eart

Yet I know I selected Never on Random Events, specifically because I got fed up with the sheer heavy-handedness of many events, and deliberately *deselected* it previous to my last game. And just to be sure, I started up a new game, with the same monarch. The next screen should reproduce all the settings just used--and it shows Random Events still set to Never. Perhaps the problem is that "Never" isn't being interpreted correctly? That setting couldn't be affect
N ot sure if this is what you are referring to, but those are the "Power" Icons for Chaos/Order on the main screen (Top left side). As indicated in my previous reply (#226) they have the "String Not Found" issue which can only be fixed if I create a new Elemental.str file. According to other modding threads, that file needs to be in the Core folder and can't be in the Mod folder which is why I haven't created it.
<

2,228 Replies 8,547,893 Views

Before I do that: you're right that the standard elemental shards are on the right, and that order/chaos are on the left. Still have the String message; I'll just try to capture that. Another issue: I have random events set to Never. But at 98 turns into the game, the Spider Infestation event just popped. Reloaded at 97 turns, at 98 an event about a blood-stained sword (I think it was) popped, instead.
