Wow, thanks for prompt reply. Yeah, it was a problem with proxy settings that weren't present on my secondary computer. Thanks a bunch! Great game, btw. I'm looking forward to many hours of sleep lost over this game!

So I went out and paid $50 for this game, and I installed and verified it on my secondary computer, got the update and it ran fine. Now, however, when I installed it on my main computer, and I went to update it on the same Impulse account, it says I have "invalid credentials" and I should re-connect to the internet. Obviously my internet connection is not an issue if I'm posting this. Can someone tell me what's going on?
I'm going for it personally, I haven't bought it yet but have been lurking here often, and I really think once 1.1 comes out it will be a truly awesome 4X, plus getting it before the month ends and grabbing the 2 free expansions couldn't hurt. :D
How about this: wrong forum buddy. Try a technical support page, they have language options I believe.
Use proper grammar. It's "Sovereign" not "sovereigner", Kilsonx. Sorry, but bad grammar really bugs me.
Maybe the Empire has some sort of evil crusade against boots?
You can't necessarily downgrade, but if you have the boxed edition, you can uninstall and use the disk in the box to reinstall, and it will be back at version 1.0. From there, you can make all the necessary changes, includingg creating a Sovereign with the Organized trait. Be warned though, the benefits do NOT outweigh the negatives. If you have the digital download, no, I believe if you reinstall it online, it will install the version with the latest patch.
Well, this is what happens when you read/watch too much Japanese anime.
I like this. It makes magic a bit more meaningful than simply imbuing every champion you can find and then nuking the enemy into oblivion. I really like where this game is going.
In the immortal words of God: "Sorry for the inconvenience."
I think the magic system as it is now more accurately reflects magic itself. First of all, we're still using the old mana system (as opposed to the new one set to be implemented) and mana takes forever to regenerate, so each spell counts. Second of all, the dmaage output is now lsightly realistic! Since when did leather armor prevent a wearer from getting fried by a lightning bolt? Never. I like the magic system a lot now. Sucks for those people who have the glitch where magic misses all the
I agree with the idea of inheritance for the AI, but I don't like the idea of my Sovereign dying and having my child rule the empire, simply because the Sovereign is supposed to be YOU, he/she is YOUR avatar in the world, and thus shouldn't be so easily shuffled aside upon death. However, if you were good, you wouldn't let your Sovereign die anyways. Still, the idea of a randomly-generated character taking the throne upon my personal avatar's death doesn't sit too well with me.
I prefer the idea of transferring consciousness into androids. That would be a great fix for most of humanity's problems.

They should simply have the ability to have custom factions/sovereigns, and after the initial save to your hard drive is done, do like VAC does and check whether or not the files have been modified since initial creation. Of course, I have no idea how big a drain on resources this would be to Stardock, so for the moment, no custom factions/sovereigns is fair.
You can't recruit Sions unless you're playing Empire, first of all. In the case that you are, I have no idea. Glitch?
Yeah, I agree with Baleurion, the whole in-depth campaign thing is stupid, if I wanted an engaging storyline, I'd read a good book, and if I wanted unique game modes, I'd download a mod. Focus on the actual meat of the game, the sandbox, instead of the campaign.
Yes, I agree, small numbers of meaningful units are the way to go instead.
Epic doesn't necessarily mean bigger. Epic can be used to describe many different situations and such. For example, in Just Cause 2 I drove a vehicle off a bridge while standing on the roof of it shooting at government forces, and during the descent jumped off into free-fall at which point I grappled onto an enemy helicopter and killed the pilot and passenger, flying away to safety and leaving behind the flaming wreckage of both my vehicle and the government trucks which also drove off the br
Oh, and GaelicVigil, they were called epic poems because not only were they big and unordinarily huge, but they also told amazing tales of superhuman feats, of Achilles, who couldn't be killed unless he was hit in the heel, and Odysseus, who took 10 years to get home, and ran into many Gods and monsters and unholy punishments along the way.
They need to emulate that FFT feel is what they need to do. The unit numbers are fine as it is, but I seriously think they need to take some examples from FFT with the whole TBS Tactical movement thing. Height, position (kind of done laready but not really) and direction all need to factor into combat as they did in that game. When playing it, the battles always thrilled me because there were a lot of different battlefield and viable strategies you could use, along with the whole job system (
Lolwut?
Maybe all the Canadian copies got shipped to the UK? Some UK people reported getting two shipped copies. Btw, thanks for the info on the store Feeroper.
If you got charged for both, complain. If you didn't, keep quiet. [e digicons]:X[/e]
Wjatever happened to originality in the gaming community these days? I always use personally significant names, usually from book series I have read/am reading, so I always have a list of cool sounding fantasy names for my cities. If all else fails, I name them after the municipalities surrounding my city, or after myself.
