I wonder what people are feeling about the new limit of 4 items equipped? While I am generally positive about the idea I found in my last game it led to some tedious micro. Each of my heroes had at least one +sight item (some had two). I was equipping and unequipping these items in favour of combat items (+3 cold attack, +1 poison, whatever...) just about every turn since I wanted the extra sight but did not want to lose slots in combat. Mainly game balance issues. Quick example - last beta we had stacks of doom, this beta we have spam mooks. There are still basic mechanisms which need work - pathing/movement for example. Good work is being done here but we are far from finality. Combat is far from balanced. Faction differentiation is lacking. The question is how she gets it as one of her traits. She can't take Enduring as a (sovereign) talent. Check the sovereign creation screen. It may be some sort of leftover from earlier versions of the game but it is misleading as the trait only (now, at least) appears as a faction trait. If a month is the approximate timeline I am worried for Fallen Enchantress. It is in no way ready for release yet. I would expect maybe six months development to get it to say 70-80 metacritic level. If the release date was planned for the end of the year I would feel confident that we will get a good game.

I don't think of the starting tech's as being the advantage a faction has, but rather as giving them a leg up in a particular area. For example, if I want to rush mining then I'm going to want restoration as my starting tech. Sure you can have restoration within six or seven turns of the start but I am still going to beat you to mining by six or seven turns... I've been experimenting with epic speed and here your tech choices count much more.&nb

In last night's game I had a forest tile, which had nothing on it currently or previously, looking like a plains tile. I realised only when I went to move through it. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] As it turned out I reloaded the game to the beginning of that turn - and now the forest is displayed!

A teleport item spell is very much needed. But let it have a one turn cool down - an exception can be made for loot found by troops. Otherwise that uber-weapon I find early on (or any uber-item really) is going to appear in every battle I have! Other option would be a large mana cost but this would detract from the utility of the transport.

When 'Slow' or "Haste' are cast (or any initiative changing spell actually) the initiative tree reorders itself, seemingly illogically often times (yes, there will be a logic but it is not what you expect or straight forward). Pandemonium may well have resulted in a 'Slow' being cast.

Crashed when ending turn. Was lacking some cloth map details for a turn or two. Also twice in prior three or four turns after killing stalkers they did not disappear from the both maps until the next turn even though they were dead and there was no tooltip for them. Okay, I've suspected this for a while but this confirms it. Turn 15, normal difficulty, epic speed - I run into Carrodus. He is level 2. He has 5 level up traits including 3 way-of paths. He also has 3 pieces of leather armour. I've been flat-out researching (with Inspiration and max growth) and have only got half-way to my first tech. Normal says nothing about giving ridiculous bonuses to AI factions. This sort of thing drives me crazy

1) Can't agree. There is currently far too little strategy in city building. 2) I hope the dev's are listening. 3) Remember this is a beta. In the tech trees- The tooltips for Refined Training and Refined Arcana do not give any information as to bonuses. The tooltip for Refined Channeling states '+10% crystal' but the description gives '+25% mana'.

A neat feature to list custom sovereigns in the Hiergamenon. Like it. Unfortunately the intelligence of my sovereign is shown incorrectly. She actually has a base stat of 12 (Amarian) and is Brilliant. Her correct stat is shown on the unit details screen (=14 at level 2). Unfortunately her race is incorrectly listed here as 'Human'.
