Yes E:FE is definitely missing from the add/remove programs list. Maybe there is some trick I don't know about to get it to display? FE:LH is in the list, but I've of a mind to keep that installed... for now. Thanks Leo that's what I was thinking but was hoping to avoid the process of downloading the 3.6 Gb file. So I tried just updating first, and it updated to 1.32 (which it probably already was) okay, writing various files, quick and simple but

Elemental: FE does not appear in my Programs and Features list of installed programs. Vista OS; Fallen Enchantress exe lists 1.3.2.0 in the properties, forgot to check when I fired it up. I can't find an uninstall exe in the program files folder where it is installed. There is no information in the manual, or that I could find online, about about uninstalling the game. (I'm wary of just deleting the files I can find, or installing third party software.)
My mistake. (Didn't notice the Death Elemental Suit.) Good to hear that it should all be up to date.
The ElementalSuits mod has the .png's from the DeathAdeptAbility in the Gfx folder. I'm guessing that this means that some icons are missing for the suits? (Haven't actually run the mod yet, just in the process of updating.) p.s. I'm hoping/assuming that 'everything' will work with LH 1.5...
Yes, luck with first hero (it's not a decision). Point is it has a very big impact. I think the impact is too big given that it is out of your control. If I play with a custom sovereign then I can incorporate it but with 80% of the base game sovereigns the die roll for the first hero is the most important (imo of course) thing that happens in the entire game. I find this unbalancing.
After playing LH for a while I find that the spellbook that the first hero has makes an inordinate impact on the game. I like the way heroes are recruited now, and I like the way city enchantments are powerful. But early on (before turn 10) getting a hero with a favourable spellbook that your sovereign does not have (earth mainly, but also life for kingdom, or water for epic games especially) makes a very large difference in the difficulty/speed of a game.
Actually this did get made. But I don't know/think it got released because the War of Magic campaign format kept getting changed.
Longest... wait... for... DLC... ... Ever
Thankyou for your mods Parrotmath. Just dropped by to get your maul debuff and grabbed the kingdom bindings for a future game. Nice work. [e digicons][/e]
Glad to see that this bug has already been noted. I had it in my game. It effected my second city quite freqently (40-60% of the time), and also my third city but only on a couple of turns that I noticed. None of my other cities were effected, including some that were only connected by the city which often was counted as non-connected. I have save games I can post but I'm not sure how much good they will do since I found out through reloading the same sav
That's cool. It's no biggie for me. Save and reload gives me an excuse to refill my beverage of choice. [e digicons][/e] Thought that it might be something for DigitalAbacus to try if he hasn't already.
That's not a very controversial stance. And yet major label games are released with major bugs every day. This is an indie game with a tenth of the budget and ten times the ambition.
Absolutely. But no major game lable will ever listen to gamers about this. Stardock just might. Personally I never buy Paradox games any longer since they are full of bugs. Perhaps eventually I will relent and purchas
The Ai instantaneously finish the current building when you load a game save? Did I get this correctly? That would be a severe case of "karma is bitch" for a save/reload cheater. ^^
No. The AI instantaneously finishes all queued buildings. And it will happen to anyone who ever turns their computer off during a game. It is not recommended to leave your computer on for weeks at a time...
I'm not sure that it is DigitalAbacus's problem (or even a problem with the mod itself) but in one game I had to save and reload to get the logging camp to show on the build menu.
Go to their territories and assay their actual tech's researched by shopping with them. You may need to play on a bit to see the goodies appear but it will give you definite confirmation about some of the tech's that they have completed. Can't think of any other way. Edit: If you hang out at their cities you can also tell a bit by watching the improvements that they have built or have queued.
It has been tracked down and fixed. The fix will be be in patch 1.1.
Fantastic news. Thank you. I stand by my comments that major bugs like this should be eliminated in beta phase and never make it into a released game.
The previous issue was auto-completing improvements on game reload. FWIW this is a different issue. But I'm checking it out, we will get it fixed.
Thank you for looking into it. Apologies if I have conflated two bugs but from the end user experience they are (i.e. look) the same. As can be seen from the tone of my intial post I am quite frustrated
I had a similar experience the first time I found a studded collar. I was asking myself what's a beast? and not knowing where to look. So I looked around the map and found the nastiest monster nearby, an escaped Juggernaut. Yeah, like the dude on the loading screen, I tells myself, got to be something in that. Um, maybe not. (Though it was fun to watch Princes Porky fly through the air backwards, hee, hee.) I got a pair of studded collars in my most
Good catch. I suspect that this happens all the time but that players don't often get the chance to observe it.
Over a hundred turns of construction, instantly, for free. Not a balance issue... nothing to see here. [e digicons]XD[/e]
Actually my finger was not quick enough to get the really good screenshot. It seemed like Procipinee was determined to make a real woman of herself, if you know what I mean. [e digicons];)[/e]
The insta-building bug is alive and well in 1.02. In fact you can watch it happen right before your own eyes. Although claimed to be fixed with 1.01 - "Fixed bug where sometimes the AI would force complete all of its construciton projects on the first turn after loading a game because it was using stale city defender power ratings (these are now recalced and cached while the game is loading)" the behaviour is still present. Come on guys, fix it - the whole
Thank you parrottmath. I saw the bridge complete and you are right, I'm just too hasty sometimes. Although it was the cloth map icon which triggered me. As it turns out it was only the 'in construction' icon which was the wrong colour. Looking forward to my next game and trying out the new and improved 2.1. [e classic]:)[/e]
A couple of images for you from my game. I am using version 1 so maybe this is out of date? You will know. Firstly on the world map I am getting floating bridge pieces. See below. I will update if when I return to the game this fixes itself. Very much akin to the floating waterfalls everyone was seeing. I can live with this, it is the functionality I am after, but it would be nice to have pretty pictures as well. Note also the roc
I don't mind the monsters razing cities it adds some excitment but... Turn off the salting when monsters raze cities. (What I don't understand is how monsters learnt to salt the earth?) Losing a city is a severe enough consequence. Let the tile be resettleable and the player race the AI to get a pioneer there. Population/buildings lost and the opportunity cost for the new pioneer should be sufficient.
Why, for any reason pick Amarians or Wraith as the race to form your faction?
Amarian can be quite good as a blood trait. They get bonuses based on shards. Obviously later game, larger map and denser shards play to their strengths. For example with a few Earth shards freshly produced Amarian troops often have equal or better HP then their equivalents and they will have higher initiative if you have a few
