I'm really enjoying the terrain modification spells, more and more as I go.
@feelotraveller - "Carting" was used as a general term to reference caravans moving resources, regardless of the caravan mechanic. It wasn't meant to be taken literal.
Sorry - was a bit polemical and rushing it... I think resources should remain global for two micromanagement reasons a) I don't want to bother with a mechanic for transferring resources from city to city (partic
Caravans carting stuff around? Nooooo..... (leaps from elemental cliff never to be seen again) Seriously this would be so tedious micro. Having to constantly check which cities have how much of what and moving all those (already disheartening) caravans around each turn with a list of where the dozens of them are going in hand. Nah. And letting wander around by themselves on auto is just a recipe for death. Colonization had this caravan transport idea and it
Me and the feather never got on. It always wanted to go somewhere different from where I thought I was going, particularly in tactical combat... splat. Go to options and select use hardware mouse cursor, or something like that, not as frilly but beats ending up at random locations on the map. Don't know about your second bit of fun and games but I just had some fun with Verga. Hit him once with my champion stack (actually it was only Rilis who was up to beating on
1. I really like the flexibility of unit design. Of course changes can happen here but the main point is having a bunch of options for the design of units. In most games there are a couple of standard custom designed units I use but nearly always there are others I end up designing which are specific to that game (or a limited set of games), for example, early on I usually use spears but in my current game I have few materials and heaps of metals so axes are in. One thing wh
I'm pretty sure the Aus publisher had been aiming for end of September all along. It's likely that the local retailers were just poorly informed.
Thanks for the reply Kryo. It seems like you guys have a big problem if the distributors/aus publisher was telling you one thing and the retailers/public something quite different. The whole experience of distribution chain problems has left a very sour taste in my mouth
I was informed today by my retail pre-order store (gamehead) that they had just been advised by the publisher that the Australian release date for Elemental has been changed to 30/9/10. Stardock this is just not good enough. 4 weeks AFTER the release date to move it back six weeks without prior notification. Please explain.
I too would be interested in hearing the OP's question addressed. (Already had my grumble.)
Some day I'd like to see someone list one logical reason for buying retail over digital distribution.
Today's the day! It would cost me $170 to download 1.7 Gb.
A good news update. Elemental cleared classification on the 7th of September. So that means EXPECT IT SOON in a store near you. A couple of days for printing the boxes and mailing them out!
When I priced Elemental in Australian retail in early August there were 4 outlets I found taking pre-orders. They all listed 19 August as the release date. The one I ordered through suggested that pre-orders normally ship 2-3 days before their release date. Elemental went Gold on about the 13th or 14th (i.e. when a version gets sent out to be put on CD). BUT in Australia the game has to be reviewed and classified by the Classification Board (just in case us poor ki
Has anybody LOST to the the AI by any other means than conquest yet?
Bye?
I'm pretty sure they meant- Buy! As in 'Good buy.'
My understanding is that everything through Australia has to go through some crazy level of ratings board stuff before it can go on sale.
The timeframe for a Classification Review Board decision is 20 days (+5 days for administration) from the application date (or 5 + 2 for a priority application - costs $4000 more). Hoperfully it will be quicker. But we could be waiting a while.
Thanks for that Wizard1956. I was having trouble too. feelo.
I wasn't able to find the limited edition anywhere in oz. Both Gamehead and N3VRF41L had the standard box listed as being released on August 19 but a few days ago changed their sites to show that it was out of stock. I pre-ordered it through Gamehead (as my monthly download limit, which I share with someone else is currently 2Gb) a couple of weeks ago when they were suggesting it would ship on the 19th (figuring I'd get by about the 24th) but they haven'
