It used Action Points rather than Initiative (the unit with the most AP's moved first etc), and fully integrated

First of all, I have to commend the team on producing a version of the game that makes me want to keep playing. The game has advanced by leaps and bounds with .95.. Outposts are an excellent way of not cluttering up the land with cities, I think this is probably the biggest step forward. Still some problems - the quests are broken - they say I need to research a certain tech, but don't unlock when I have those techs. Still the dreaded mixed-up cu

The worst part is having to constantly kill champions who you've just defeated, in a never-ending loop. In my last game, I finally lost a city to an onslaught of enemies, and when I tried to retake it I found all the champions that I'd killed untold times, stacked up there defending it. End of game for me, I can't compete with that. If the devs won't change this crazy mechanic, at least give us an option to make champions mortal

The game is really coming along - apart from one massive game-breaker - the enemy's champions keep coming back, making it impossible to defeat any enemy. Please lose this crazy mechanism, by which all champions are immortal. I don't mind losing mine, as long as the enemy loses theirs. I had to quit the game I was playing, because they just kept coming at me - it's ludicrous.

I'm saying that the game *we* want to make is substantially different than the game you want this to be.It could be helpful to clarify what game you are making, by sharing it with us in a Dev Journal. How can we know if your statement applies to us or not. And how can we focus our feedback to what you're actually making, if we aren't ce

Yes it is, and the title of this thread does express that, mostly. It leaves off the .002, but the 0.90 (beta 3) is there.
Thanks Leo, yes I know it said 0.90, it was just the .002 that I was unsure of. </

The game world needs far more connection with the gameplay - including the oceans. More than just a hunt for the tiles with the best food/materials, to build a city. As the name Elemental suggests, all elements should be crucial to success - be they forests, water, stone, metal - or rare and magical. We must feel a part of the world in which we are playing - we must feel that everything on the map matters - and we must feel that the land is alive, and a part of our

A short while before I became aware of E:WoM, I was running my own net-based wargame called 'Elemental Wars'. In each hex of the map, there was a small chance that you would discover a rare resource, that could be of great benefit to your Empire/Kingdom. Maybe it was a phoenix colony in the shadow of a volcano - that could provide you with phoenix feathers - with a bit of arcane research and applied military science, you could create a lightly encumbered un

Back in the mists of time, when I saw the first glimpses of Elemental, I was very excited. It reminded me of the classic wargame 'Lords of Midnight', where your heroes would set off into a vast white world, to save the land from conquest. It was the scape of that game, and the constant sense of danger and mystery that kept you playing, just one more turn... Could I recruit the legendary hero Utag of Utag in his citadel in the south-western wilds, before the enem

I think when there are basic errors with things like this, it is symptomatic of deeper problems. The person who writes these should be someone who can write properly. There must be someone within Stardock who fits that bill.
Three biggest gripes about the game so far: 1. Navy/Boats - why is this still not in the game? If strategy games from as far back as Empire, have naval units why can't we? 2. Races and Units - they still feel generic. It's a fantasy game, and I'm not trying to be flip, but use your imagination. Magic only races, Flying races, Snakemen, Beastmen, Races that start with ranged combat units, non-humanoid races, firebreathing d

I am on a small land mass - I've recruited the ever-faithful Janusk and Elisabeta, conquered Relias, and have one more enemy on my small continent. Apart from beating them (and building my cities), there is nothing else to do - no more champions to recruit, very few enemies or places of interest, and no way to move to the other islands. What now? What gets me coming back to play more?
