Can one of the modders out there mod death to champions?

Is that moddable?

Can it be configurable such as killed after x injuries?  Can that be based on % chance?  50% death after 3 injuries, 75% death after 4 injuries, etc.?

I think having to kill the same AI champions over and over again is getting a little annoying.

Yes, it is possible to mod in. Here's an example:

I have added "two" chances to die - one has a chance to appear after suffering 5 injuries. Another after 10.

The chance to die is rolled against how many injuries you have suffered as well as how many are left to suffer. Normally, you can suffer 15 injuries before you have them all. In this quick example a champion has a 9.09% chance to permanently die when suffering his 6th incapacitation.

How does it work, in game functionality terms?  If Hitpoints get too low, does it automatically kill the champion?  Is there code in the game already to kill a champion?

The game seems to have functionality to delete units with less than 0 hitpoints. These injuries cause that. So while the game doesn't have a mechanic to kill off champions in this manner, it is nevertheless built in indirectly.
