GalCiv had the rock/paper/scissors mechanic, of different attack/defense combos. Elemental has a rock/hardplace mechanic. No choices or subtlety or countering.

The option does too much. With Janusk on, you get annoying advice and a handy, free, second turn champion. With Janusk off, you lose the advice, and moreover you lose the free second turn guarantee. It's a slightly harder difficulty setting, really.
And if the single stat is kept, make diagonal moves worth 1.5 pts, to make it meaningful for a tank to cover a squishy in tactical combat.
The worst is the hero on horseback attacking in melee. 6 second of non-animation (at least, not noticable at default zoom levels) after the counterattack. There are many reasons not to send champions into melee combat; this for me is the main one.
Debug log in link. Out of mempry, fairly late game.
Entering combat due to end of turn moving, while a research dialog tried to have focus. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/Elemental1_07-2010-09-03T23-47-38-37.zip
I get this one too. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/debug%20%283%29.err
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/debug%20%283%29.err The computer locks up; this has been a problem for some time with elemental. Forces me to turn off the computer and reboot cold, because no keyboard or mouse input is allowed. Often occurs when dialogs come up: this one was the research dialog. I'm enjoying the game, I support the game, have through beta, but this bug and cold reboots are making it dangerous to use.
A number of crashes, including out of memory errors that are not from an ATI based system (this is a Win64 NVidia based box). http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/Elemental1_06-2010-08-30T17-04-34-714.zip http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/Elemental1_06-2010-08-30T21-13-36-893.dmp <a href="http://dl.drop
Also heroes becoming baby portraits. Maybe they think they were cute as children.
Not sure if it's been mentioned: but for UI improvement, how about naming the building somewhere in a mouseover when the destruction tool is active, rather than clicking then Yes/No to find out the building name?
I'm getting Out of Memory errors on Win64 + nvidia. See my other posts for the crash dump files.
Janusk became a hot chick. I was mildly disturbed.
The HUD shows the wrong city info completely, more often than not. For example: The card is correct. The HUD isn't.
Whenever I go up a level in the Combat research tree, I discover a new unit: Archers. I have many many archers in my list of buildable units.
My sovereign's army was due to attack a wolf on end-turn moves. The wolf decided to attack him. I auto-resolved the battle of the wolf attacking him, and I won, and I got a mighty 6 gildar. Then it said I attacked the wolf, and won, a I got another mighty 6 gildar. Probably a bug.
1.06 is still getting freezes on this setup, but crashes are thankfully much rarer. This one occurred after a battle, then clicking on another mob for the army to attack. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/Elemental1_06-2010-08-30T16-14-52-437.zip
This occurred again on 1.06. The music freezes (first?) and that can be quite disturbing. Cursor locks up. No keyboard input acknowledged.
Stability has rocked on 1.06, love your work. First and only crash after many fun hours of play: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/Elemental1_06-2010-08-28T22-24-01-250.zip Clicked on trade button in diplomacy view.
Frog is a fan of a huge, sprawling intense epic which is released before it's finished, and may never be finished, even as it's branching out into other media? Whoda thunk it? Just kidding.
Still does this with auto-end turn off. Th game is now less playable after I updated drivers, and I'm a sad panda.
First: apologies. I updated nvidia 330m driver from Jan version to Jul version, and I'm getting no more crashes to desktop. But I'm now facing what I consider a worse bug. Playing in windowed mode, the cursor disappears, and the whole laptop occasionally becomes unresponsive: can't ctrl-alt-delete, alt-tab, or do anything. I have to hard-boot out. Very bad, worse than just a crash, imo. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/Ele
Stability seems much better, but after a tactical battle, it went down. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/Elemental1_05-2010-08-26T07-30-55-815.zip
Thanks for the response, Frogboy. Deeply appreciate the effort, looking forward to enjoying the game in a more... continuous manner :)
Can't identify any particular trigger: might be at end of turn? Seems to early for a memory leak related issue. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/Elemental1_05-2010-08-25T15-25-04-361.zip http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6971450/Elemental1_05-2010-08-25T15-32-13-954.zip
