Yes, like in Civ (IV anyway). However, unlike Civ, make the confirmation like an Advisor confirming that you want to declare war against . (I mean, saying "Your head would look good on the end of a pole" like in Civ 4 would be hard to come back from, even if you just said it to someone once. It is a bit weird the way it is handled in Civ 4 because it sounds as if the leader you're saying it to asks you to confirm. ;-)) Best regards, Steven.
Cities Cost Maintenance ... it increases at N for each new city (so 5 cities would cost 15 maintenance// 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5) captured cities should cost double maintanence ... so if you have 2 cities and 3 captured cities it would go like ... (1 + 2 + 6 + 8 + 10) or 27 maintenance these captured Cities should also start with 0 Influence and take a LOT of time to expand influence (say 5 turns per 1 tile radius) <

Life is way too complex for black and white thinking to ever work in more than a handful of cases. The fact is, there is no-one who is completely 100% perfect, and there is no-one who is perfectly 100% vile. But I would sooner trust someone who doesn't have a vested interest in getting more power than someone who has. And companies can't be voted out (except by mass consumer backlash), politicians can, so companies have a higher proof level then the ordinary person on the st

Good points. I think that the best societies are the ones that have the *most* sharing around of power, and the smallest difference between the most well-off and the least well-off. ie. not too much power in any 1 person's/entity's hands, and the ratio of what the people at the very bottom earn to the those at the very top is not too low. Who was it who said, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."? Best regards, Steven.

Well, apparently there will be at least one more beta (3C) before the modding beta (which will reportedly be a similar version to release). So hopefully that will be enough for the beta testers to help iron out the majority of the gameplay problems and instability before the release. Best regards, Steven.

I have found on my computer that 97% of my load game attempts work when "Skip Intro Cutscene" (Gameplay option) is checked. I don't know why that happens, just that it seems to work almost all the time when that option is checked and none of the time when it is unchecked. I think it's worth trying for the moment to see if it helps you load games successfully. [e digicons]^_^[/e] But I definitely agree that there are problems with the loading game system as it is in 3B.

I think a problem is, if you build an improvement by clicking on the special square, it doesn't count as if it is being built by the town. For example, a Farm on Fertile Land, can either be built by the town, using up its production capacity, or built by clicking on the square its own, which doesn't use up the town's production capacity. This is a bit weird and maybe analogous... It seems you only need to worry about regular buildi

When in the game, the taskbar icons show when moving to that side of the screen, and the other side has restricted movement (ie. can't go right to the edge). I choose to have the taskbar on the left side of the screen because it takes up less screen real-estate. Can you make a change so that the game can handle the taskbar being on a non-default edge of the screen? That would be much appreciated. [e digicons]:star:[/e] Best regards, Steven.

How long do you need to wait at the Load Game screen before you can successfully load a game? 100% of the time now it just keeps playing the intro movement and doesn't seem to actually be getting anywhere loading the game. Someone who has been able to load into a game successfully, how did you do it? I thought "fine, I'll just play without loading save games" then the game crashed. :-( So far loading doesn't work on my computer, plus the game can just crash for no appa

I think the best way to change settings with sliders is to click and drag the slider rather than click on the arrows. (I noticed too that clicking the arrows doesn't seem to change things quickly.) Best regards, Steven.

I think the betas have been getting the information from the server, including beta 3B I think, so I don't think it can be edited at the moment. :-( Best regards, Steven.

As it says on the changelog thread:
The Beta should be up within the next hour.
Best regards, Steven.

Well, after this effort, no-one could *ever* accuse you of being slack. ;-) [e digicons]k6[/e] [e digicons]5*[/e] [e digicons][/e] Please, after you're finished, still be careful on the drive home, okay? Best regards, Steven.

Really, it is not worth getting so exhausted that you are a great deal more likely to have a car accident on the way home! :-( If you think it will take longer than 10 minutes more, please, all of you, take a break for a while! [e digicons][/e] Best regards, Steven.

Well, it's almost midnight in Stardock land. If they've been working since 9 am... Best regards, Steven.

Well, you need to be in a good state to test, so try to do something relaxing. [e digicons]:star:[/e] Anyway, I'm sure all the people of Stardock are trying their best. [e digicons]|-)[/e] Best regards, Steven.

Except, playing General Carrodus in 3A was so much easier than Lady Procipinee it wasn't funny. By going out early and completing quests, taking down other players and gathering resources for town and city construction, you are (currently) protecting your entire empire anyway. [e digicons]:D[/e] Being the head of one of the only powerful armies on the map can have a powerful protective effect too - you get so far ahead that Caster Sovereigns can't make up for the slow
