For Call of the Titans, what about Pioneers with an Updated (Staff) Weapon (mod) that gives +1 Strategic Movement? To be all-inclusive of Pioneers, could you instead exclude all units with a Pioneer Pack from teleporting? (This would properly exclude regular Pioneers and Speedy Pioneers. =)) That would be great! But it's fine that he did. =) Best regards, Steve
So what can be done, and what things are Kael and Stardock going to focus on? Opinions from devs *and* players welcome. [e digicons]:)[/e] How about an optional cost in other resources of each piece of equipment, which would reduce the total gold cost for that piece of equipment, and a significantly higher gold cost for those who want to buy equipment with gold primarily, to account for conversion/transformation costs (and maybe mana required if you go gold only, going the alche
Still worth bringing it up though, as an option for units with a lot of experience. And since they are remaking the game, its worth bringing something like this up. [e digicons]:D[/e] Best regards, Steven.
Great ideas. [e digicons][/e] Could be a bit like Great Generals in Civ, except the Generals would have more character. Yes to Generals that affect combat performance on several levels, and yes to General units that arise out of sufficiently experienced regular units! [e digicons]:D[/e] Best regards, Steven.
I agree! [e digicons][/e] Best regards, Steven.
Well, hopefully we can get some progress on MP some time. =) Devs, how about it? Best regards, Steven.
There is a mod that adds cooldowns to many spells, including Alchemy, Teleport, Blink and Arcane Weapon. Sometimes mana costs have been revised too. Best regards, Steven.
then dont make it automatic, just make it ask if you want to send an error report after a crash and give you the option to see what your sending
I totally agree with this. I think this would be a perfect way of solving the problem. =) Best regards, Steven.
Yes, you make a good point. =) I guess sometimes you can get a bit frustrated if not much is happening for a while. That's just like us humans - when things are going well we think they will always be going well, and when there are problems, we think they will continue. ;-) But I look forward to the modding getting a lot better once the modding guy is orientated and primed. =) Best regards, Steven.
IMHO, maybe now is the time for the devs to put their money where their mods are - if they are serious about the moddability of the game of Elemental, how about implementing some of the really easy requests right away, and the devs, the mod-makers and the playing community would all start benefiting? They could find that if they continue to put off adding desperately requested and needed mod capabilities, that mod-makers could get fed up and leave. From what I have observed, Heave
Why can't Stardock get in touch (by Private Message) with people with the 1.99 GB (or whatever) update problem and nail what's causing it so no-one will have to worry about it again? [e digicons]:maybe:[/e] Best regards, Steven.
Stardock, I suggest you PM all of the Elemental users and work with them to find just what's causing such a big problem from one major patch (1.1) to a relatively minor but still not totally minor update (1.11). There must be a common thread somewhere, and by not addressing it you are allowing much confusion, angst and anger because an update which should be just a few MB ends up being *virtually the entire game* every update. If you value your customer service, work with those
This is ridiculous. It's one thing that there are problems updating with all those beta patches for 1.1, when things were changing every day. To have the problem of a 1.99 GB update (even after verifying, or closing and reopening Impulse) from 1.1 to 1.11 is just a little bit silly. Have you been working hard on fixing this very big bug? It certainly makes the "compare current version and new version's files" update system a lot harder to like. Best regards,<
It might be in bad taste, but occasionally everyone does a bad taste joke (and what is bad taste varies from person to person). I'm just going to wait and see what results there are from the new team. =) Best regards, Steven.
Well, I'm just going to see what happens. [e digicons]B)[/e] It just may be good. =) Best regards, Steven.
Games are rarely the result of one person. And hiring Jon Schafer to be an expert moddability-enabler is not entirely out of the ball park. After all, there is no doubting he is an expert modder, so he may be able to bring something to Elemental modding. I think it's important to note he is not being hired to be a designer. =) Best regards, Steven.
I agree. Many times, in tactical battles on the strategic map, I have "accidentally" clicked on the wrong square, or alternatively the camera's focus changes and I start moving other units to a destination I never intended to go to. Stardock, please implement a simple fix - at least a confirmation dialog, in both strategic and tactical mode - even if it is too complex to make a quick "number of turns to get to Y" solution right away. I know, I, and am pretty sure that many
Is it possible, or does the Mods directory need to stay the same for a whole playthrough? Best regards, Steven.
Great post kenata. I agree. =) Best regards, Steven.
Strange, I thought there was space available in at least one direction. Maybe there were other towns to the south as well. Best regards, Steven.
...you can set up an account, and login, upload and get public links from the www.dropbox.com web-site. A basic free account is 2GB and there is a public directory you can provide public links to so others can download your Elemental saves/error log archives/mod directory archives etc. stuff. =) Best regards, Steven.
I use NoScript in Firefox and block all JavaScript except that which is necessary. About 1 or 2 in every 3 attempts with correct CAPCHA it says the text I entered was wrong, when it wasn't. =) Could it be because google-analytics.com Java Script is required, or is there a possible bug in the CAPCHA code? I have stardock.net, stardock.com and elementalgame.com JavaScript on all the time when browsing the Elemental forums and sending PMs. Best regards, Steven.<
Excellent start save , play a bit and you'll see what I mean. =) Exact Elemental Mod directory contents required (about 30 MB 7-zip self-extracting archive, approx 55 MB of compressed files) here . Note that I also used Frogboys 1.1d executable which I downloaded from this thread and <a href="ht
impinc, love the mod, well done! =) However, is this issue relevant to ACP v0.961? Best regards, Steven.
