I think the general gist/understanding now is that WoM is unable to redeemed significantly because of its extremely poor (in most respects) beginnings, so they don't really want to advertise it any more than necessary, even if it has been improved a bit. However I would be curious as to whether they decide to make a demo before FE. Best regards, Steven.
My laptop did something strange: Got a notification about some operation going on and that it would shut down afterwards. Well, this hung for over 30 min, so I hard booted. SP1 didn't install, so I went to Windows updte and installed and no probs. Very strange happenings.
See reply #29 in this thread. I didn't get the problem with SP1 not installing though, just the hanging when restarting. Best regards, Steven.</p

So what people/groups are in it for the love/passion? Ordinary people? Privately held companies that haven't got too big? Best regards, Steven.

I have had a gmail account for over 5 years, albeit I turned off the search monitoring (apparently). I guess whenever a person or group gets too much power, they tend to abuse it, even if it doesn't come out (read: if it doesn't become obvious) in the early days. A couple of times when updating programs have required a restart of got the bit about configuring the computer and that it will shut down when it is finished. Problem is it just stays there for 5 or 10 or 15 minutes, and gives no indication when it will finish or its progress. Both times (the second time with the Windows 7 Service Pack 1) I just rebooted, and started Windows normally, and it seems to be okay. But I really, really, *really* don't like it when they say to wait

I can see where you're coming from now, and I could certainly understand that principles such as you've described could help transition Stardock to a larger company/bureaucracy (even though in layman's terms "bureaucracy" has a very negative connotation ;-)). What do people from Stardock think of the ideas raised in this thread? Brad, what do you think? Best regards, Steven.

See this post by DrJBHL (which contains a link to The Windows Club web-site and PDFs). But basically you go into Control Panel, type in "speech" in the Search Control Panel box, click Speech Recognition and open it up. It is mostly self-explanatory - you set up a microphone, and do a tutorial, and then optionally do more training. But "The Ultimate Guide to Speech Recognition in Windows 7" PDF from the above link goes int

I created that last post using entirely speech recognition. I think speech recognition is better for when you are using lots of words, you don't want to type them all and you're using a totally supported program. =) Anyway, I have done enough talking for when typing is a bit easier on the larynx. ;-) (This message was only partially created using speech recognition. It is possible to create messages of all sorts using Windows 7 speech recognition. It just requires a lot of familiarisation and patience when starting. And a lot of talking. But at least you don't have to type. =) I think I might get a microphone on a headset instead of this desktop microphone. Best regards, Steven.

There's nothing to worry about. *Do you know a lie when you hear it?* Actually, a more appropriate sentence is "There's nothing to worry about, but there is a lot to be concerned about." Worrying is not usually productive, but being concerned is not a 24/7 job. You might consider "being concerned about something" to be "targeted, productive, time-limited worrying". Best regards, Steven.

Despite what the media would have you think, every little genuine, heartfelt good thing you do has an effect on the world as a whole, even if you can't see it from a macro level. If you do something good for someone they appreciate it, *and* they can often be more able (and want) to do good things for other people too. Every little drop adds up in the dam - the more there are, the better. =) (Although in Australia we've either been getting too much rain (floods) or not enough, hmm

I would just like to re-iterate, if you want to help make rape much less permissible, it would be great to support Scarleteen.com if you can. I will certainly when I have a bit of spare cash.
support Scarleteen.com if you can, they are very much against willful violation like this. The site has lots of useful and balanced information about sexuality, for people of all ages. Best regards, Steven.
The funny thing (funny interesting not funny ha-ha) about all the ideology stuff - the richer people also benefit greatly from having fewer people with virtually nothing. Best regards, Steven.

Yes, rapists are not humane. But they are unfortunately, human. But their value for society and for individuals is extremely low, so it's not good, for men especially, to support any of the social structures that make rape permissible (and in some places, likely). Btw: support Scarleteen.com if you can, they are very much against willful violation like this. The site has lots of useful and balanced information about sexuality, for people of all ages. My computer history didn't go back quite that far, my first real computer was an Amiga. And it was amazingly advanced for its time (compared to PCs and consoles around then). However they just didn't know how to market it well (or ran out of money for marketing, one or the other). Best regards, Steven.

Thanks for your thoughts! =) The gameplay aspects will be improved in fheroes2 as time goes on, from all sorts of sources, including later HOMM games. [e digicons][/e] I very much like H2's classic stylized fantasy, as it really suits the game, as it doesn't have to be "realistic" or 3D for me, personally. =) Best regards, Steven.

That's the problem with money - you can never have the ultimate amount. You can always add more 0's. If there was a maximum amount you could have, and that wasn't too high, then we'd probably be in a better position. But numbers can go on forever (unlike earth's resources). Best regards, Steven.

Which would explain why people from some other Stardock forums saw the stuff about the fheroes2 mod project, because PC Gaming and Personal Computing are on multiple "sites". =) I guess Stardock thought it would be beneficial if the different "local" communities mixed a little more.
