Hello. It seems, some of important (at least for me) gameplay issues still with us? 1. Update of Zone of control. Well, it still the same old good "you can see effect only on next turn". Or save/load game, that made effect visible immediately. Or (as I found today) click "smart player color". Looks not very honest for me. 2. "Influential" race perk still do not work. I receiving with Pariden exactly the same ZoC as with any other fraction.

No two spells should feel the same: Spellbooks in v1.0 through v1.09 were filled with tons of spells that all felt the same: Lightning, Fireball, Hurl Boulder, etc. They were various tweaks on the formula, but the end result was a magic system that lacked interesting (and cool) choices. Our motto going into 1.1 was that each and every spell (and each spellbook, for that matter) should feel unique and tempting over the use of another. [/qu
Wow! At last!! Thank you, CariElf for fixing it! But... there is several little questions remains. 1. We have actually "half-square" improvements. Maybe it worth to have 1/2 radius for it? I think, it could be better, because 1. It will be complement to existing "City-size ZOC" and 2. Give more "flexible" margins of ZOC. Also it reduce "overpower" of line building and will look more like existing one (but more sane). :) 2. S
No, it's the same method as the SP. All the players move their units at the same time, but to get additional moves the players have to request a new turn. ... No, we will not be supporting PBEM or hotseat as they're not compatible with simultaneous turns.
Still don't understand. There ISN'T simultaneous turns for player in offline game for now. As far as I can see, it is "true" turn-based, when I move all my u
Now, since turns are simultaneous, it's possible that Unit C may have also tried to attack Unit B but was a little slower and so its event arrives on the server second.
Correct me, if I taken something wrong: so we speak now about simultaneous multiplayer? Not true turn-based, as offline game is? :(
Well, I simply want to notice that all bugs, mentioned in this post still here. Pity. :( But also I noticed several new bugs! 1. Most quests shows to you it's target. "Nobleman's daughter" is not. You must found target mansion on map by yourself. I think, it's wrong, but I am not sure. 2. Save/load toggles off "territory" mini-window. Always. 3. All
This may sound hard to believe, but there are people who love the game as it is right now. I have been playing for hours and am having a blast. I personally think all the negativity is a little overblown. The game has some rough edges, but is otherwise really awesome. I can definitely see this game becoming a classic over time like MoM, Civ, and X-Com. This may be one of the only games in history where reviewers wi
I already posted most of this at least once, so I will simply summarize it. It is only that bugs that not in mentioned in Master list (so I fear, it will not be fixed soon).: From post https://forums.elementalgame.com/392896 : 1. "Delayed" changes still here. Some changes works not immediately (as it must to be), but on next turn. Most obvious example is Zone of Influence: it expanded not on critical poi
Also a pseudo bug. Clear appearing terrain can in fact turn out to be blocked for building construction. Some sort of light hilite both in the city build screen and when considering settlement placement would be nice to signify that certain tiles are not clear enough terrain for building. In general, a better indication of the terrain of a square would be nice, perhaps a tab/alt/ctrl & hold to reveal move cost/terr
If you recruit Janusk the tech researcher, save the game, and then later come back to that game. Janusk will have decided he instead really wants to be a merchant. Reloading a save will also sometimes cause random shards to appear. Might also cause other resources, but I have only noticed the shards. If you save the game and reload right after founding a city you will now have influence around that city and can use
Neutral Champions you can not afford will neither talk to you nor tell you how much wealth you need to possess to be willing to talk to you. This may not be strictly speaking a bug, but it's pretty annoying .
This is not exactly bug, but awkward feature. Selecting this champion than going to "action" tab will show you needed cost. But I am agree with you that it is very non-obvious.
Resource discovery techs do n
Hello. :) Well, I too don't "really" playing for now. :) But I think it is worth to seek all bugs by myself, as it could haste overall progress. :)
Well, maybe Wargs not available to Empire anymore - but Refugee camp still visible for my Fallen explorers. :)
Finished "Maiden in distress" quest. After entering a mansion LoS was cut to one square around. :)
When one of my unit crossed paths with another, they automatically combined in one pack, that having move points equal to lesser number. It is right. What is not right is that all my units inside pack automatically will have this movement points! So when my exhausted hero meet fresh traveller, they combine forces and both will have null movement. :( It is wrong!
Well, it's simple: I am entered in tactical battle then tried to use "Defence for Fools". Well, book disappeared and after a second game crashed. File included: http://filebin.ca/dqstux/Elemental1_06-2010-08-27T22-04-53-680.zip
When I see Darklings, I can easily see "cannot be targeted by offensive spells" description. Well, just now I killed one with my Firebolt in Village quest. :) ---edit--- Also quest referred as "Darkling village", but description says about town. :)
Simple issue: when dealing with Forests (at least), AI ignores it. So when I try to go by forest's edge, and select "forward" direction, AI will dumbly go through forest - while it is possible to go zig-zagish, by diagonals, walking twice fast. Similarly, just now my hero, walking to it's destination, managed to cross single forest square on his first move - while he could avoid it left or right!
Program can generate Battlefields over Oasises. It made it once for me. :)
Well, I see that first time, and it looks not very cool: in Hiergamenon there is pages for any game fractions. With all vital stats, just as for my kingdom. And I even didn't meet any of them!
I found source of my confusion with Area of Influence. Most of my beta games was with Kingdom of Pariden - and it have intrinsic ability "Influential", that must increase AoI by one square. Well, it worked no more. Pariden have exactly the same AoI as any other fraction. And I can assure you that it worked up to Golden version. :) ---edit--- It is not Pariden - it is "Influential" at whole. Just now I played with Magnar with the same bonus - and with the same results. No resul
At first, I am sorry that I combined all of this altogether. Of course, right way to do this is break this post apart on tiny little posties and put it into two forums (ideas and support)... but I am too tired from this, and from Elemental in general, so I simply will type everything, that I seen and will be waiting for nex patch. :) There is two part of this post: first is obvious bugs - and I beg for pardon, because I will be repeating myself somewhat here. But as it
1. When I played, I encountered NPC heroes. And after some time it stops to talk with me! I was puzzled until someone in chat said that I can check they money requirements in theirs' actions! Well, it is very unintuitive, as for me. Can it be repeated in tooltip? If I would see "Required 90 guildar" when I hover mouse on hero, not seeking in menus, it would be much simpler! 2. There is frequent units that have more than one character in it. Most obvious example
Well, it spawned on plain. But "blindness" works anyway. Somewhat strange, though: first time it was undetermined: FoW become one square from character, but it was town radius anyway. Second hut cut my vision to 1 square around until I moved, and last one was completely in fog after solving it. :)
Well, it was consequent in previous incarnations - building always queried, and even it says "1 turn", actually it was "1 turn AND 4 turns before". On one hand, Gold Mine and Farm just now was build simultaneously, but on the other hand - Mine not counts as part of the city. Need to check closer... Yes, you are right. Now it is simultaneous. Thank you for the suggestion!
