Alright so I found the debug.err file but I have nowhere to upload it (as I remember that we should not upload it to sites like rapidshare etc). It is only 4 kb, is it possible that I can mail to some of you guys at stardock?

^ yes I have tried waiting for like 10 minutes without succes. That being said most time I have probably only waited for about 1 minute (the task manager says the game is not responding though) @ pad 152 - thanks a lot, will try that :)
It could be yes... but I only have the monitor on my laptop, so I cannot do that. I do not see any zone alarm when i ctr-alt-del to the task manager. Further I have set up exceptions in the windows firewall (and my antivirus) so I do not think that zone alarms should occur??
(see bottom post) Hi. In beta 2 I was only able to get past the loading screen, upon starting the game, three times of twenty times. Beta 2A so far never get past the introduction screen. It just seems like the game stalls. I am able to move the mouse around and press ctr-alt-del. Windows tells me that the game is not responding and if I terminate the Elemental process I am told that an error, named AppHangB1, occured. Have the dubug.err file bee
It is a good idea which have been proposed before. The devs, however, are satisfied with the current system and frogboy have stated that it will not be changed. Good idea though and perhaps something which will be implemented in a mod or an expansion. [e digicons]:D[/e]
Quoting the_neurologist, reply 10 What if the game does not work on my system after release? Currently I have only got past the introduction screen (before intro and main menu) 3 of 20 times and with no succes the last 6 or 7 times. Everything upgraded, tried re-install, computer got plenty of power to run the game etc.Make sure you are providing data to the devs (which will be easier when the debug.err returns) so that they can try
I'm not saying I won't continue to check up and see how it is progressing but just it feels...clunky. I know I know, Beta xP but all I do in-game is sit there with a town or two, ending turn, making a ton of gold and buing a ton of custom units so whenever the AI sends about 8 guys at me they just die. My biggest problem is how you get thrown out there at level 1 with level 30 monsters around you ._.
That

At least you can open the game [e digicons];P[/e] I am not currently able to get past the load screen and into the main menu upon starting the game...
what? theyre not gonna make it with the 64 bit version until release next spring??
I think the game will be released the 24th of august. Frogboy said they were ahead of schedule, but it is going to be tight...
Frogboy stated that the 64 bit version might not make it to release. You will, however, be able to download an 64 bit upgrade for free once it is available.
Allright... been a while since I last succeded in actually entering the game. So far i've managed to start it 3 times out of +20. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I think you will have to build a caravan and a road will slowly appear (but i don't know how long it will take? - so far i've sent 2 caravans to the same city 20 turns ago, no road still, not even a small dirt one...)
Hi. When I start elemental the welcome (beta 2) screen appears. Must often the game does not proceed (9 of 10 times) to the intro movie/main menu. Do I need to delete my saved games manually (this seems to help sometimes) or re-activate the game in any way? Edit: Windows informs me that the problem is with the file? AppHangB1 (I don't know how it comes up with this) Sysyem specs: 64 bit os (win 7) 1,60 Ghz quad core
I can play the game sometimes, but most often it just start up and stay on the velcome screen without reaching the intro/main menu. It seems to help if I delete all saved games (is this how it is supposed to work?) When I get into the game (so far 3 of 10 times) I got no problem whatsoever.
Or...there isn't a beta going on somewhere now and our energy is being forced to do other things!
Yeah I guess you can put it that way, I just hope you do not waste to much time to get a prize ;) I mean the with the amount of points some of you already have collected my guess is that you are gonna spend more hours than what is it worth. Of course I do not know how much spare time you got and what your salary
Where is the surprise? Any contest leads to a similar situation, which chances of happening are increased in proportion of prizes/bragging rights given.
Sigh. I hate this contest.
Agreed, some people suddenly seems to care more about the contest than the game. Sigh
I assume the campaign take place on this particular map? It looks really good. Edit: Where are do the Tarth reside? And where is the border between the altar and pariden?
Just wanted to make sure that you are aware about that the money will not be withdrawn from your account until the beta is released when preordering. That of course will not solve your problem if the beta is released this thursday e.g., but you should take it into account :)
Ok, I gotta say this. I gotta give this kid "some" credit. At least he had the Balls to come back and say he was sorry and that he made a mistake. I have freely admitted multiple times that the first Stardock game I ever saw or played was a pirated copy of Gal Civ 1 that was given to me way back
Tactical combat have not been revealed in a video yet. Screenshots of tactial combat have been posted, it will be much more detailed than what you saw in the video (it will zoom in). Tactical combat will be implemented in beta 3 i think. For a screenshot of a tactical battle: http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/14295360/elemental-war-of-magic-/images/elemental-war-of-magic--20100601115351003.html?page=mediaFull
^A lot of tactical considerations, eh? But please no dual wield, it may look cool but c'mon.
Does anyone know if you can equip your units with more than one type of weapon? For example a soldier with a sword and a bow or a knight with a spear and a sword? How will it affect stats if this is the case? And how does it work with heroes? If you cannot equip your guys with more than one type of weapon it would be cool if it was implemented post release / in an expansion of course with some kinds of negative effect. Strength traded for flexibility.
