Beta 2) Unable to play even with reinstall

I haven't had much time to try and play, but when i did I was looking forward to making my sovreign.  Not sure if I'm missing it somehow but seems I can only use the preset ones.  Out of frusration I deleted all of them, and from there it doesn't let you go any further, wether you verify the game or reload it those pre sets will not come back and it won't let you start a game without choosing a pre set sov.  I'm re-installing now to see what happens, I'm sure it'll work.

With this I'm wondering, am I missing the part to customize them?  Is it not in beta yet?

Also before I got pissy and deleted the other sovreigns, I did start one game up.  I didn't play enough to throw out any opinions but one bug I encontered was when my heroes leveled up, they vanished.  Booty.

Making edit here...  I reinstalled and the sovereign list is still empty, so I still can't play.  Is there any fix for this?

Check out the journal (esp. Elemental: Beta 2 Info and Elemental: Beta 2 Tour posts).

Short answer is:

-custom sovs disabled for now

-'frustration fits' generally bit one in the keister  ;)

edited in: did you uninstall before re-install?

At least you can open the game ;P

I am not currently able to get past the load screen and into the main menu upon starting the game...

Try clearing out your /documents/my games/Elemental/Units folder.
This will reset the units back to their defaults.

That should let you choose them again.

We should probably change it so you can't delete the "core" sovereigns.

Hah, I was thinking that might help for idiots like me who think "Maybe if I delete them all something diffrent will happen"  Of course something diffrent turned out to be something bad.

Thanks for the help there though, I'll do that when I get home and hopefully be able to try it out more.

When I responded earlier I first tried finding the core Sovs and looked in that folder but didn't see them there or in any other folder (inc. the ones in Program Files and ProgramData) so concluded they were encoded in something else, so deleting that folder you mentioned wouldn't help.

Second, I figured uninstalling would delete every trace of Elemental, accomplishing what you suggested.

Perhaps also change the uninstaller to uninstall everything?  Or perhaps give the options:

-complete uninstall (everything, no exceptions)

-as above but preserve saved games, custom units (Sovs and troops), etc.

Those files were in my units folder there, I did delete them and then ran the game, it worked.
