I was asking about the Tech Tree for regular troops... you have a point on the heroes, but I'm asking about the rank and file military and last time I was in the military they wanted all the same look...it was called uniform. I am asking for the Rationale or acknowledgement that its a bug and will be addressed. I certainly hope it was an oversight, though it kills the motivation I would have for going higher in teh weapons tech tree and seems really quite dumb the way
Would it help if we called the squares tetragons? It's easier for devs and modders to work with right angles and squares don't have any real disadvantage if diagonal movement counts as 1.4 moves . This game has floats and not just integers. What's the problem?
Does Diagonal movement count as 1.4 moves? I understand your point howeve
As a Kingdom player, I use Caravans first to build roads and second to farm food. I send them to build the road to the destination of my choice then disband them and build another to a new destination once I have my roads then I build one and send it to my farm/food producing city and use it to make food(as dumb as that sounds it works).
Hex maps are more nuetral and harder to exploit distances than square tile maps but if the head-guy does not like hexes, then that's that. Live with squares. But please fix the Kingdom Tech Tree.
1.09 sept 30th targeted...sorry to hear you are crashing have you updated your system's Device Drivers lately? Did you start a new game with 1.08 or are you playing a 1.07 savegame? 1.08 so far has enabled me to play on large maps previously I was restricted to small and tiny maps, so I know some fixes went in.
I can see Channelers aging slower than the general non-chaneller populace, however wouldn't this just mean they live longer looking younger when quite old? Do the Devs make the Sov die at a certain age? If not then why not let a clock that measures game years be uniform for all... I mean can you imagine if the Canadian clocks and calendars ran half as fast as thos in the US? Just sayin... it's not as big a deal and broken Techs in the kingdom tree but it is annoying and di
For Kingdom faction which researches the Mace and then the Warhammer and the Warhammer is 1 of 2 preeq's for the Light Plate this makes no sense at all to have to research an inferior weapon tech. I am assuming this is a bug? If not what is the rationale for it? Please for the love of god and all that is good on earth explain or fix this flaw. I'll even provide possible fixes: + Make the Warhammer Attack higher than 6 like I
Gauntlet03 - I like your ideas! Logical and well thought out... Hopefully SD will take note. [e digicons]k1[/e]
Multiple Elemental Planes of existence not unlike Myrorr might be an interesting twist on an old concept for an expansion in 2011 but not this year, this game is not yet polished, some of the techs are out of order the AI needs more elbow grease, etc... Please do not take any of my bashing on Elemental as I'm Trashing this game, I am not, I like Elemental, If I did not like it I'd not be on these forums as much as I am... I really truely want Elemental to be better then MoM and the AO
I think it has to be 5 squares (if not 5 then it is X squares) to be connected/linked to the town nearest it. If you hover the mouse cursor over it then you can read a tooltip if you have them enabled that will tell you how many squares closer your city/town needs to be to get linked, and sometimes the conditions are right that you can "Grow" your town the Z squares required to get it linked.
There is a Tower that you can build which will grant +2 mana points to regen for each hero channeler. I understand the Sov's offspring regenerate mana in tactical combat. There are quite a few mana bricks/tablets that work like mana potions. Are there any other ways to increase mana regen?
1.08 does seem more stable and for the most part the improvements are in the right direction. one GIANT exception.... Kingdom side Weapons Tech MACES 6 attack > WARHAMMER 5 attack for no apparent (none documented) reason this change is discouraging me from going hammers and then light plate ...I mean why not swap hammers and maces or swap there values or make hammers 7 or 8 attack? No explanatian so either its a bug SD added or they e
You will need to increase your Tech points for research each turn to catch up, but you need Parties/Squads and/or companies researched and Weapons up to Maces and Leather armor minimum. Also you need Barracks and Command posts on your big cities producing your military engine. Otherwise keep your heroes away from his big guns, AI do not defend well so go on the offensive and attack its towns I like to keep them if same faction and I can defend them otherwise delete each building a
I have AOW 2 and SM as well infact my boys 8/9 are playing them on another computer and I had intended that all 3 of us next year or two might play EWoM on our Home LAN, but ... We may have to settle for doing that with AOWII:SM instead it all depends on how Single player turns out first... Given the limitations on MP and the scope but first I must be convinced that the game is complete and we are nearly there but not yet. The problem that TBS games have in MP is ppl
I would be beside myself if I found out the AI used lower /Raise land to create a mtn pass or land bridge to reach an objective and bypass a hurdle. NOT SEEN IT. but I do it at least once a game. I would be beside myself if I started taking over nearby AI cities and all the AI's or at least per faction AI's joined hands against me and actually worked together against me... I would be beside myself if the AI sovreign would actually defend his last cit
Kalin, From what I can tell Brad is a great starter, he just needs to hire a great finisher and then he will have himself a very fine company. (I agree with you but then we do not have all the details, brad only gave us an appetizer - a tease if you will) I think most folks are more concerned with what is being done now and fixed/balanced patched now? (ok maybe not most folks but I am) Brad, Thanks for the update its neat I really m
Maybe part of the problem is that I am impatient and do not have a tech tree in front of me for all the possibilities. How far up do these things level up? I got adventuring up to level 7, going straight for the techs that display items on the map. I had gotten at least through the one that increases crystal visibility, and still hardly anything appeared. Is my impatience getting the better of me, or do I already have the major tec
I think this thread should be necro'd... Let's go back to Feb and look at what ppl where saying... now apply the lessons learned before they continue repeating. I think 1.08 is a step in the right direction, I can finally play a large map and at turn 215 and no crashes BRAVO SD! but lets continue to improve AI and also the Tech Trees, my strongest grievence on 1.08 is still the weapons on the kingdom tech side... MACE>WARHAMMER the simple fix would
In late game there are a few things that can be done to make bows better. In the unit design you can select a magic Amulet +2 attack and Ring +1 Attack if you have the magic research for magic items and the crystals available for the items when training the troops this effectively give you the ability to have better bows. Well it did in patch 1.07, not exactly sure how the combat mechanics differ now.
You can click on any part of the city to select it. You don't have to select the city center.
NOT TRUE when attempting to send a caravan of your own to that city ...It must go to the city center. (or at least it must in patch 1.07, I am assuming that mechanic did not change in patch 1.08)
For Kingdom, Warhammer is a higher tech than Maces but is a lesser weapon... What gives?
Tip: By researching 'Adventure' tech and getting Notable Level to 3 I run a champ around and collect Gildar that just lies around in patch 1.08 - there is still no shortage of currency.
Maybe in the future, but for now it's like finding a bag of Gildar/Gold.
/agree Pathfinding needs logic and movement point weighting of the various solutions to find the "Best" solution not just the first solution. With movement point the quickest path is not always the shortest path...
