Yea well I didnt expect the community to care much. You guys have your minds fixed and set in stone. I'm the type of player that loves these kind of games but YOUR game in my opinion is too slow and the pacing isn't well balanced. It takes to long to grow. It has alot of potential and I like the other elements like questing and magic but the pacing is too slow. I loathed CIV IV, it was the most simplistic game of its type. The only thing I like about that

I want to just make a point that maybe the developers will take note on. I play a game called Medieval II: Total War. I love that game. And I want to make a comparison on some aspects of both of them. No they aren't the same exact game yet theres something I want to make a point of. I love building games and empire/city managing games. So I thought I would love Elemental Beta 3 with all its latest improvements and such. But there's something just no
Sorry, greatness is MADE not born. Fail.
I don't understand why you are apologizing. Who cares if people have to wait. It's YOUR game. Take your time and make it right. Stop apologizing.
Ignore the people that tell you to hurry up, those people are stupid and clueless. There are far too many games that have been rushed. Just release it when its finished, who cares what others think.
Wintersong, a bad idea in YOUR opinion, is YOUR opinion. Let's set that record straight. An on/off switch is a very good idea.
When I hit build city and it asked me to spend five essence, I clicked yes and the game froze. Dxdiag, http://pastebin.com/WXsAxqFz Debug, http://pastebin.com/JH2kaajC Here's a picture.
When I was swapping between bracers of armor for my sovereign in the "create a sovereign" menu, the game crashed. Dxdiag, http://pastebin.com/WXsAxqFz Debug File, http://pastebin.com/v48QhPst I retested it a second time. You can duplicate it by clicking fast between armor and clothing back and forth, back and forth, and it will crash. Unless its my computer thats
Hi, when I created my own sovereign nothing went wrong until I hit play and went to the creating world screen, then it froze and went into "Not Responding Mode". Here is the debug, http://pastebin.com/gQfcagYD Dxdiag, http://pastebin.com/WXsAxqFz And a picture of before the event happened. I can't do a image of the event because it won't let me print screen on that page. But to describe it, it's when it s
Here's an update to what happened. The solution to getting past this annoying popup is to hit the ESCAPE KEY, and it blows right past it.
I can't do the beta. Every time i get to the first page it tell me that it is unable to update my data files. I tried everything, and I can't get through, I got through ONCE, and now it refuses to let me through.
I wanted to test out the technical aspect of the beta client so I just started randomly clicking things in the options and I found that the arrows on tooltip delay are unresponsive. You have to click it 4 times to move it one point. DxDiag http://pastebin.com/WXsAxqFz
Here is a picture of what happened. I tried it with all firewalls, virus protection OFF. And I can access my cable internet NO problem. I even uninstalled impulse and reinstalled. DxDiag at http://pastebin.com/WXsAxqFz Debug File, http://pastebin.com/J5w830fq <img src="http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad71/Juvantei/failedtodownloadfiles512x384.jpg" alt=
Before I start playing the game I just wanted to bring this to your attention. And I will begin playing and report anything else that I find. dxdiag if you want, http://pastebin.com/WXsAxqFz
What do you do when you keep getting a "problem retrieving update data?" on impulse?
I'm not saying this with attitude or anger, so don't take it that way. I really don't care if you like it or not. It was just a suggestion. Frogboy said he was trying to figure out how to make a turn based game of 32 players online at one time fun. I really don't see how you can make that fun without getting rid of an end turn button. That's more appropriate for a single player experience. And yes that's MY opinion.
In every profession, I wasn't saying that every suggestion was connected within the same profession simultaneously you don't have to pick every suggestion, I was just throwing out ideas within the profession that you can pick. Dragon Slayer: Improved damage to dragons, improved detection of dragons, improved dragon loot. Just throwing out alternatives in there. Dragon Breeder/Tamer: Get your very own pet dragon and have the ability to ta
Has anyone here played final fantasy or chrono trigger? Those are two great real time turn based RPGs. After reading frogboy's new dev post, I got an idea. He sounds at a loss about how to make turn based fun in multiplayer since FPS and real time are king. I loved chrono trigger's turn based because it didn't warp you out into another screen to fight, and the game gave you the option for REAL TIME turn based battles. The enemy would act once its energy bar f
Ok, well I'm not going to read everyone's reply because I don't have time to. Heres one alternative but if you read near the end of the post, i think i have a great idea. Simultaneous turns could take the form of everyone planning their move and once everyone ques in their end turn, all units move at the same time and all buildings are planned to construct, and if any units bump into each other, a battle starts unless they are allies. Whoever gets there first, get
I'll start off by listing strengths . I will list several things that could be used for each trait, I'm not suggesting every single one bundles into the same trait. Unless you want to. 1. Beautiful or Graceful, it could do several things, take your pick. Increase your public order rating, improve diplomatic relations, more children, increased health in cities due to inspiration or you could say inspired
Wintersong I really don't care what you think. Alot of people preordered it with the belief that they would get into the beta. And yes we did pay money, the money is on hold in the bank and as soon as stardock hits the button, it gets transfered. And if people are told to just wait till mid march or later, then there was absolutely no point in preordering, since the game is going to release in september. So yes, because we put money into this, we should be allowed to t
I think this way makes sense, and its not as bad as you might think. If you attacked the light kingdoms first, you'd open yourself up on many fronts. The fallen empires would come after you and you'd also have the kingdoms to worry about. So the player is better off allying with the kingdoms, take out the fallen, and then deal with the kingdoms afterward. If the player spends too much time quarelling with the the other kingdoms, the fallen empire will be too strong
Just because this game is more focused on empire building doesn't mean you can't make the quest system good. You don't need weak links in your game. Having world quests or world events where something big takes place, will add something big to the game.
No my point about randomization was not about saying that the game was DECIDED on random things but that random things influenced the game. In tactical battles, LUCK is a part of random element, that could help the underdog to win but not DECIDE that he is going to win, just influence the battle. Like getting a lucky crit, or having some special item appear randomly on the tactical map to help either side who claims it first. Same thing for outside of battles, LUCK and ran
Well, roads could be built automatically between structures without the player needing to do anything. When the player wants a specific road built, he can manually click and drag the road to whereever he wants to. I don't know how you can make it any more deep then that Frogboy.
