[quote who="Mtrixis" reply="8" id="3065691"]Game runs too poorly even on medium maps for me to play on large ones - the large map game I finished was completely choking by the end. Anyway, that aside, as a stopgap, go into the custom setup for your large map game and remove an empire or two, should give you more breathing room - also make sure they're balanced between empire and kingdom, so you have a greater chance of peaceful borders if you want to buildup. [quote who="Rath3130" reply="21" id="3061597"] Agreed. Player champions should suffer some sort of drawback to being defeated in combat, regardless of the outcome. If it is a victory, then have them unsuable for a time and/or wounded.. And while I think that for a player this is one of the more balanced ways to do it, I think that the AI should be given a bit more leniency when it comes to champions falling in combat. As it has been stated in posts above, the AI can not reload after
I played my first game of the Beta and think it's going to be really solid. One thing I didn't like, though, is that I ran into another kingdom very soon in the game despite choosing to make a large world. In fact, there were two kingdoms that I was sandwiched between. Both discovered right around my starting position. On a large map. So I would like to suggest that in later updates, the map sizes grow larger, especially for the higher end of the scale. Especially now
[quote quoting="post"] I can’t go into much detail regarding it other than to say it that it is much more similar to a Civilization/Master of Magic style strategy game versus a Galactic Civilizations/HOMM style strategy game (i.e. every tile of terrain matters i.e. building near rivers or forests or hills and that kind of thing will matter and there are things like unrest and tax rates and that kind of thing). Ah well - mine didn't make the cut. Of course, odds were low with so many submissions, but you don't enter if you don't hope to win - and when you don't, it's still disappointing.
