I can reproduce this on my game. I get the problem with the corrupted graphics (it seems I get some random corruption) by viewing the Kingdom details. The corruption is in the window that shows what your peasant looks like and then when I go back to the map, I'll get the same corruption but all over the whole screen.

When I tried to edit the text for my create-a-faction, I hit the enter key to make a paragraph and instead all my text turned into one big black box and I couldn't erase it or otherwise make it go away. I had to back out of the screen then come back to it (switching tabs didn't work) and, of course, lost what I had.

I like the idea of specialization and cities being harder to develop. If this is a shattered and broken world, spreading out over the land seems like it would be a harder thing for a number of reasons. Fewer cities with more chances to specialize would really seem strategic and bring value/worth/I better not lose these sense to cities. I don't care so much about slots and them all being the same. From one AI lover to another, I'm looking forward to tinkering with that (once I learn the game of course) as much as all the other tools. In fact, I'm probably the same, I can't make maps and such worth squat, but my gaming buddies usually like my AI modding.

Yeah, I have advanced lighting off too - imagine would be too blurry with it on. Never saw what LeBlaque has though, that's way too freaky.

With the game half responding now, I can actually delve into it some. I ran into this while playing (still playing, but Alt-Tab out to post this).

Well, on my desktop if I go to basic MS sound drivers, the game performance improves some. The music still does skip/chop, but only during certain actions (like re-loading the map or after clicking on a menu button) Going to try full screen mode again *crosses fingers*

Okay this is wierd. The game runs FINE on my laptop- and it doesn't have the graphics or RAM of my Desktop So I wonder what the game is choking on with my desktop. Must be a driver or something... Oh and I saw what the yellow stripe was. Too awesome.

No effect from disabling Realtek (even from BIOS). I'd love to let that stripe load, but at this point, it would take an hour :( And the game seems pissed at me now. Constantly hanging at the splash screen, never did that before in windowed mode.

Just to update, I upgraded the driver to the highest version NVidia has (257.21). That might have fixed the blurry graphics as now the map, with or without Cloth Map Only selected, shows up well - as long as I'm in Window mode. Unfortunately, no impact on performance or the hatred of Full Screen Mode on my system.
