http://www.4shared.com/account/file/TYUWGkwG/debug_2.html I don't even know what turn I was on. I've basically just been pressing enter the whole game. I just recently saw another empire, and then they died. I'm on a large map. I can find my auto save, but the game started getting sluggish about a hundred turns back and I'm sure it's just another OOM, but probably the 2GB limit.
Tydorius
Isn't that last guy the earth lord or whatever from the developer diary video?
I've been using http://www.4shared.com/ to post my files. It's similar to photobucket just for files.
This game had a bad launch - the QA wasn't as formalized as Stardock hoped it would be. They're working on a 1.2 patch that will be out soon and will fix a lot of the issues (Hopefully a lot of the crashes too). You may try to enable beta versions in Impulse and download the 1.2 beta (1.19d). Be warned that it's beta and it could make it worse so you may have to roll back and reinstall, but it's worth a shot. Stardock seems intent on wiping out the OOM's or most of them on thi
Nah, I just spoke to them and they're shipping today. So it worked out. :D They got the apartment number.
XD I just realized that I messed up the address I sent them for shipping. I forgot to put my apartment number on it. I just moved here and keep forgetting that I'm in an apartment now. I normally get my mail anyway, but now I'm worried. But thanks for all the congrats!
Gratz Tydorius! Honestly, if they make this quest I will be able to mod in Dark Rising.
That's the exact reason I made it the way it is. I wanted npc's to be able to hit a quest location and cause things to happen, I wanted mini factions to be tied to quest lines and spawnable by quests, I wanted people to be able to set quests to have different consequences for failing, not just a "You're dead" or a "choose your fate
:D Just bought a new power supply so I meet the minimum requirements of the card. XD
At least it's not EA. *submits ticket* Week later: From EA: Because we've not heard from you we are assuming your ticket issue is resolved. Thank you! ... *resubmits ticket* Week later: From EA: Because we've not heard from you we are assuming your ticket issue is resolved. Thank you! And never a solution.

Maybe you could make elevation part of the map settings? Since we already have hills and mountains that are carved from the map surface then I wouldn't think it'd be much of a memory kill to have the ability to build cities and have them level out hills instead of removing them completely. >
Speaking of news, who won the contest? There's nothing up on the page for me. >.> Not that I took today off from work to see if I won a graphic card or anything. But I totally took the day off from work so I could see if I won a graphic card. :D
I would like to suggest that Stardock implements a strict Ice Cream Mondays policy. Recently collected data (n=1) suggests that employee satisfaction increases by 15% when eating chocolate ice cream on Mondays. Just no vanilla. I hate vanilla!
Brad doesn't care about his employees! Didn't you see where he cut the heat to the pool room to save money? No way he'll go for Ice Cream Mondays.
I agree - His last paragraph points out that he loves Stardock, so it's not a troll post or anything, it's a legitimate post. But using a book from 1986 isn't very applicable. I'm sure it's intuitive and enlightening, but very few points have an effect on a company like Stardock:
1. Create constancy of purpose toward improvement of product and service, with aim to become competitive and to stay in business, and to provide jobs.
Stardock is constantly dedicate
However, with the release of Elemental it seems Stardock is beginning to transition from a small firm, that can be easily managed from the top-down by a single individual, to a much larger bureaucracy.
How so? The company is small and housed out of a single building, and it is privately run. Brad even showed us a standard chart for each development team, and the teams have only necessary pieces, and sometimes those pieces are in multiple places (Wearing many hats, as
I had an amazing interview once - I was interviewed by these three women (Sounds like the beginning of a porno I know) but the interview degraded into a conversation about how the reason Taco Bell late night workers are typically pretty cool is because they start out as pot heads with the munchies at 12-3 a.m. and while in the drive through go "DUUUUUDE it'd be so AWESOME to work here" and thus you suddenly have a group of mellowed out drive through workers. I didn't ge
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/rulers-of-nations I always try to check out multiple reviews, but most people are giving it 3-6/10 or 65's or mid-low scores. So you may see what the issues are and see if you'll be able to deal with them.
I did a little more hunting in case you want to mess with your first computer anymore. http://aspoc.net/archives/2007/12/05/how-to-move-the-winsxs-directory-in-vista/ That tells you how to move the directory, but the same walkthrough could be used for renaming it, or if you just move it to your desktop then you don't have to rename it because the new install of the C++ 2005 files will
Awesome. So long as you made that restore point. - I don't know if it'll have adverse effects if you have to restart windows with that folder renamed vs. just doing it within windows without having to restart. Let me know. I just clocked in at work so I'll be on and off for another eight hours.
Try running command prompt as administrator and rename it that way. I know Administrative permission in Vista is a pain to work around.
I got a book called the Zen of Zombie. It's very helpful for business and personal practices. :D I'll mention zombies in my resume when I'm out of college.
Good point Fistalis. XD I wasn't specific, but with all the links in this help thread I should have been.
I'm finding lots of ways to fix the issue in the code, but not on the user end. Someone suggested a different version than what Fistalis and I suggested just now - Here (Direct download) Problem is that I'm also seeing people that have those errors due to the installation becoming corrupt, (This is on Windows 7 machines however) whi
Karma for you, good sir.
The link I put up is for the X64 version of the ATL Security Update. So you should be good for that, and if you still have problems we'll see what we can dig up.
