I like the idea of a 2nd or successive plane or some variation. I think the game could be scaled for those who just want a single map experience and those who want more planes of existense aka added variety for single and/or multiplayer. Planes of fire, water, shadow, astral, etc. are all fun, spice up gameplay. Maybe just a 'checkbox' at start of game with games broken up into single map, 2 maps, 3maps, 4 maps or more. The only one I found unappealing was the Sions pic. The video of the 'dark elf' was cool to see. I like quite a few of the names pps have listed here for your swamp creature. I will add Arsheraugh, Swompoith, Mirishaik, and Pheamuolth.
Nice drakkheim. I agree. Art is fine by me, however, with so many art assets going, I would probably wait and pick the cover art till towards the end of the development cycle. That way you can pick from a large assortment of ingame battles, scenes, images from ingame as well as exploratory artwork concepts from your book and game. When you say "players can toss all this out and make their own race if they want" are you meaning at the beginning of a normal single player game or is that meaning its moddable? It sounds like its going to be in the game at the beginning. I don't really like most charity organizations but the Red Cross comes the closest to doing everything possible to help people in emergency situations. This is a good post Island Dog[e digicons]:')[/e] . With the disaster that was Hurricane Katrina I hope more people come to realize that depending on who's in "office" , that relief does'nt always come when needed. As far as I can tell the Red Cross is race/economic friendly to all.
Maybe management of cities can be done in 3 development stages. 1st stage detail out Soverign city(say have 3 cities with lots of details) 2nd stage your city structures, units, etc become templates for other cities which become automated for growth. So you still increase your holdings, tax base, whatever comes next. You don't need a settler unit. Cities grow over time scale slider. This would allow for grabbing useful stuff off a menu, with time delays for units

Very nice Chirmaya. I havn't played DnD in years(with dice, etc.) but I know that anyone still playing would appreciate another tool to use in their rpg. I really like Elementals 2d map for this reason. Although I might make some of the 2d art 3d'ish like cities, mountains and forests.

Well BoogieBac memorable rpg cities for me would be Gondor, Rivendell, Minas Tirith, Greyhawk(It had a castle at the top of a Mtn I think that had a never ending style of dungeons underneath it. The Castle and city overlooked a bay and had a large harbor and port) You could get anything(almost)there. Greyhawk also had several successive walls around it. Hope trades, diplomacy and warmaking decisions are openended in multiplayer format. With only set game type diplomacy, etc for computer AI.
I don't recommend any particular name brand. I did have a pair of TurtleBeach headphones that cost a pretty penny but in the end my ears hurt to much. I ended up buying a cheap no name brand that had pair of muffs that didn t hurt the ears. My recommendation is to try them on before buying.
