Raven X-nerdgasm. That is just funny. Very descriptive and sums up what many are feeling. Did you make that up or are you using someone else's quote? If you made that up I will come back and give you +1 to your karma. Sounds like you made it up.[e digicons]^_^[/e]

If this game comes out on August 24th of this year I will be surprised. For me, it is more likely to end up being Feb 11 2011. However, it is obvious that Stardock is hard at work.
Sounds good.
Very interesting post and responses. The whole issue of cloning is interesting because it's already taking place. I am no expert on this issue. My opinion is that it will be dangerous to us as a species at some point and that there will be no ability to save ourselves because of some related issue(immune systems, diseases, etc.). Maybe our scientist will make all the right decisions and no harm, no foul. However, scientists tend to be just as ignorant as others i
Yep, multi map option in editor would be really good. This topic has been brought up before and I don't think Frogboy ruled it out completely yet. Many have asked about this in relation to undrground/above ground adventuring, multi-planes of exitstence, etc. It would also be nice for indoor adventures(ancient abandoned temples to explore, haunted houses, etc.) So some of the alternates maps could be very small in size to super huge. Maybe you could post some othe
Nice idea Cikomyr. One of the quest rewards I have received is a map that shows an existing city in the fog of war area. It just shows the city location and nothing else. Maybe as development progresses they might alter it to give a more roleplaying feel and make it a little more detailed. Old maps/treasure maps are great for this.
I am in Tormy's camp for a Greyhawk conversion. Tormy, I am also stoked([e digicons][/e] ) that you were able to post something on Greyhawk. I think Elemental in its basic beta phase already has many rpg and D&D qualities. The cloth map mode, miniture figurines that represent adventurers or monsters, city/town development, character development stats like strength, wisdom, intelligence, etc. The standard Elemental game is probably gonna be great(hopes)
Sounds good[e digicons]|-)[/e] . Definitely want to see a hereditary mod or mode where your offspring inherits when you pass on..This would extend out your play time for days, weeks, months, maybe even years. Family squables resulting in seperate factions might also be interesting.
I did read your post but you and apparently _Pawels_ interpreted what I said to fit your idea of what I meant. And I only care about gameplay, stability at this point. I've already posted somewhere else my feelings about this. Don't expect you to read every post but I thought I should clarify since you didn't understand my comment. Graphics, etc are very far back in my concerns for this game.
I think the living world will get fleshed out when Stardock creates the next level after the cloth map. I don't really think the cloth map mode is meant to be living/moving. It is so that people with low end or older systems can play also. Think the vast majority of gamers cannot afford to constantly upgrade or buy new systems every couple of years. Its a great feature of this game. When they go to the other active map creation; animations and other assets
I like the idea of having multiple players on the same battlefield(more than 2). I could see where you could have maybe one or more players influencing the outcome of others battling. Would allow for 2 against 1, 1v1v1, some might not even battle just be there to add element of unknown factors to battles. As far as assassinations go I'm generally for this as well. I agree with <a id="ctl00__Content__RepeaterReplies_ctl01__LinkUser" class="hand" titl
Loved your post leeboy26. A good romp of the past. Think the midgets are winning cause many like impossible odds and overcoming them.
Sorry Climber I don't think I'm really understanding your intent here and want to give you some constructive feedback. Only thing I can think of atm is that when the Soverign imbues the land to make a city, the water in that area becomes cleansed as well. This would allow for wells, dams(they had these in ancient times as well-so historically we have had them; ie real life), creeks, streams, rivers and lakes of fresh potable(drinking) water. And like you said "Farming
From a earlier thread someone had mentioned it would be nice if the humans took over an 'elven' city, and then with time, the city wouuld eventually produce half-elves(the mix of humans an elves). I think that poster had it right(what I would like to see also, but might not be possible). There should be many options when 'conquering' a city. Raze, enslave, assimulation, tension among the different races(for some), etc. Some populations should be hard coded for n
I like(oops) creating my own factons so far and I am sure I would just love to create my own races of elves, orcs, etc..What I don't particularly like if we do that is "a 'Race' tab where you would design what they look like along with a very simple Strength and Weakness list." As of yet I haven't been able to model any units. When I'm in unit creation screen I can see a white window with a lil bit of turqois color in it. I can see the backgroun
Ok, didn't know tiles were tied to terrain or anything else. I thought it was just a graphic for visuals.
Darkodinplus -I really like that. Frogboy -To me it would be a great way to add 'life' to each and every hamlet, village, etc. It is also a little bit 'sim' like you say, however, couldn't you just abstract or make a few animations/still works to imply you have 'all these' working people. The cities are yet to be changed to make unique/fun/active/interactive. Tasunke- I believe just the opposite.&nbs
Couldn't we just toggle in-between overlays? Doesn't seem complicated to me but then again, I'm not always the brightest light. Sometimes just a dim bulb.[e digicons]:S[/e] The hexes were used extensively for miniature war gaming. People enjoyed having flanking options which hexes provided. Squares are limited in direction you face, but were used so heavily(cause it was easy) in underground/dungeon settings for people to make maps with. Eve
Will be doing that _PawelS_. I heard Shadow Magic was pretty fun. Its just one of many really good games I haven't gotten around to yet. Same with the Fall From Heaven 2 mod. Don't know when, just someday..[e digicons]:D[/e] I am trying to stay away from Dwarf Fortress also until the 'right' time for me. These days in gaming I'm usually showin up to the party after all the other revelers are leaving out the front door.
"Why talk only about MoM?"-well Rainbowsand, the reason is because thats the topic of the thread. The OP has already stated many times that there are many great games of the past (an maybe present) that Stardock will beg, borrow or steal for Elemental to make it as great as possible. Of that list of great games of the past, MoM, is one of the core games in which they looked at for inspiration for their own game. Hope you played MoM post patch but it doesn't sound like
Sir_Linque, thought maybe it was just a name convention thing that could be edited by replacing the word in the text editor and that all the game links to that word would be synthesized. GWSwicord-"I'm not clinging to hope, but it would be very nice to see as little modern/tech/gamespeak language in the UI as possible." I agree with that sentiment completely. "Still, it looks like text literacy is fast becoming a hobby for weird people so mayb
"In the polish phase I can see getting an improved Unit Details window in that has the slots you're all looking for [e digicons]:)[/e] " BoogieBa c-Could it also be tied to the miniatures? My Soverign or Champions find a Axe of Headsmiting equips it in ragdoll inventory window and automatically the regular wood staff I was using becomes miniature with dble bladed large heavy axe of doom![e digicons]:D[/e] Would this be tough or easy to do? Same would
No wonder it sounds so good, thnx BoogieBac. Sry for the mis-info GreenIsles.
Well Raven X, you are one of the posters here I trust for a review of hardware/software(we all have some differences). Right now I am just behind the times. It will take me some time before I start switching over(I think). Thank you for that input[e digicons][/e] . Most of you on this forum(but not all) have probably already made the migration. I just don't want to spend more on another OS that in another few years I will have to
Just went back over some old posts and replies and saw the responses of the other posters on this thread. Thought others who are interested in this topic or new to impulse(like I was) would like to read. Basically just bringing this up on que for people to see. I also hope at some point Stardock can respond to this thread.
