I'm still holding out hope for a Friday night release. Weirder things have happened!

If you were interested in WoM, I think you'll like it. It's a solid game, significantly changed and improved. It's nice to see a compliment. I don't think Stardock gets enough praise for their efforts, both in terms of customer satisfaction and as a developer.
It is advertised on Steam in the top stop, rotating with a dozen or so other games. In terms of sales its in 9th place.
Nice! It is up there. Granted, it's the 10th one, but it's up there!
Thanks, Gaunathor. Now I have 2.5 hours left AND I'm hungry.
Like it or not, Steam is a huge avenue for selling games. If Stardock can sweet talk their way onto the featured list on the main store page for even a few days, I imagine it would pay off in terms of sales.
Now I just have to wait 4 hours until I get out of work...
I'll second that. Even on my aging PC, the game turns go by quickly. Much quicker than other turn based games, such as Shogun 2 or Civ V. I guess I don't quite need a new PC yet. Sigh.
Magnar just slapped me silly with 5 or 6 Burning Blades stacked. I may have gotten a little upset...
The Palace improvement does not give a bonus to zone of control even though it's predecessor, the Town Hall, does.
Also mentioned in this thread: https://forums.elementalgame.com/432241 I reapplied the patch package (not the full installer) after which I was able to see the forest models again.
Please fix the issue with Burning Blade. The AI players are able to stack it. Mentioned in these two posts: https://forums.elementalgame.com/432447 https://forums.elementalgame.com/432244
Also seen in .981. Mentioned in another forum post here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/432447
This is a pretty annoying bug. An enemy sovereign just had a simple one-handed ax and had over 50 damage thanks to all of the stacked burning blades. A quick search of the forum suggests this bug has been around for a while, too. Edit: Seen in .981
I don't understand why this worked, but I applied the latest beta patch over a clean installation of the latest full package and now I have the tree models back.
I have a 260 GTX, not a 620. I have the 306.23 GeForce drivers. They were released on the 13th of September.
I tried clearing files from My Documents and AppData. I've changed graphics settings from highest to lowest, including things like antialiasing and shadows. Oh well. It's not like I wanted to play the latest beta or anything.
Great. So it's just me now.
This is also happening with me. Happened in .980 and .981. I installed .981 on a brand new Windows install and still gives it to me. I'm running an Nvidia 260 GTX with Windows 7 64-bit.
ParadoxianLP has some good Let's Plays. Make sure you don't go too far back, as the ones he made some in the beta that might lead you astray.
*personally* I would like to see multi-tile cities but kept in terms of "districts". I want to look at a city and be able to instantly tell how advanced it is in different areas even if it means the city is using 3 or 4 tiles.
I like this idea and I kind of thought this was the plan for the original one-tile-per-city concept floated by Stardock. Cities would grow a little based on size, and the artwork would b
I like the OP's idea. It would be cool to at least have a feasible option of playing a sovereign who only used magic to stop the magic of others. It would need a lot of balancing though, perhaps more than Stardock would be able to do between now and launch. As has been mentioned, might be best done as a mod.
I think Satrhan's idea is worth thinking about. These improvements could also have a minor effect on ZOC to try and mitigate the loss of the effect huge cities had on ZOC.
Windows 8 has a lot going for it. It has so much going for it that I will probably buy it shortly after it's released. But I do not like the unholy marriage of Metro and the classic desktop.
For the most part, I like the tech tree. I do get excited when I research chainmail or unlock broad swords or horse back riding because I know I can start making some units that rock. The starting technologies have a role in the early game decision making: do I beef up my cities or get some spearmen to deal with the god damn bear cubs.
