Other factions get really upset when you build, or are able to build the Forge of the Overlord. This is understandable. Unless Spell of Making is not a winning condition. I think the diplomatic penalty for building it should be less, or non existent, if winning by Spell of Making is turned off.

Oh I know that, but I guess this is just mostly me wanting to see some choices in the game that you can make that you have to weigh the pros and cons of. Right now, a resource comes available to you and you use it. No thinking involved. I'd like to see things that offer a benefit and a detrement.
I've seen the mana reset to zero thing happen a few times. I had a game where my soverign had all boys and I married them all off and got whole slews of babies. The mana going to zero thing seems to happen when family is in the same tactical battle. At least one caster who was spawned by my line always had a reset to zero, but the wives from other factions and imbued heros didn't do it. I haven't observed the reset to zero happen in automatic battles though.
I would enjoy coming across a rare resource on the map that would lower the cost of improvements and training in the city it is linked with. I was thinking it would make sense for this to be a fuel source, like coal maybe. The trade off of using this resource would be lowered prestige in the city that uses it. Burn lots of coal, things get a bit automated and cheaper, but your city is filled with coal dust and soot and people are less likely to move in. Or, per
How about, Eject - chance to throw an enemy unit out of the battle. It wouldn't kill it, just maybe move it to an adjacent map square to be dealt with later.
Here they are. Sorry it took a few days, I have't been able to get to the computer much this week. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9374417/evilspider.EleSav http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9374417/debug.err
It happened again. Maybe you want the saved game file?
This battle went very unexpectedly. Take a look at the amount of damage my people dealt to this little spider, yet it took no damage, and killed my heros.
A lot of people are talking about there not being enough HP on units, and to a degree I agree. But, the idea that one good hit from a big sword will kill you if not dodged or deflected is pretty realistic. I like that it is hard to get hitpoints. It would be hard to have big epic armies if a stack of two or three units could stand up to almost anything on the map. In addition to this, if you want more HP for your units, there are already a few ways to do it tha
I started a new game in 3c. My city was fenced in by mountains, so I lowered them. I could not build anything on the land that once was mountains. Thinking this was like being unable to build on land where other buildings once were, I saved the game. I exited the game. I started back up and loaded my saved game. The mountains were back. No good for city.
I see. Thanks.
I especially agree with wanting a screen for army management. MoM had a pretty basic form of this but it was enough. I want to be able to see at a glance who I've got, where they are, and what they are doing. Sometimes I forget about a unit for a few turns and end up with a lot of wasted movement points and whatnot.
I absolutely agree with all of the above. I don't even often bother training armies, I just research the best weapons and armor, throw them on four or so hero units, and wipe the map clean.
What is that thing on the left that looks like an old Mac with red lightening coming from it?
to answer a few 2. Some races have facial hair, some don't. The options you get change based on the race you choose. 5. When you select one character, click the items tab on the bottom left of the UI where you would go for a city to build improvements or train units or whatnot. Once on the items tab, arrow over to the item you want, click on it, and drag it to the medalion of the player you want to give it to on the right side of the UI. 6
Ooh, turning off advanced lighting fixed this. Tactical battles work for me now. Correction - turning off advanced lighting made the tactical battle work, but other graphics still got all crazy after the battle ended. Ug, Double Correction - It seems its all just chance. I know nothing for sure now.
Regardless of the setting I choose, 3b is always in fullscreen mode for me.
This happens to me too. Crazy graphics afterwards as well as the low frame rate. Nvidia 8600GT latest drivers, AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+, 4gb ram, windows xp sp3
I like the quest where you can give essence to help the mother wolf have the puppies. Until recently it was a pretty good deal, to get two new units, and it felt good to do it. But, that was back when you could get five essence when you leveled up. Now you can just get one. The five essence cost seems quite steep now for what you get.
I like this change, especially if it allows the computer players to figure out how to build farms. Most of the games I have played no one ever attacks me and I find out why when I discover their cities. They don't build on the food tiles. They try to get to them, but they fail. The computer is not good at snaking cities. They also don't seem to be very good at choosing where to build a city right now. Some of them drop down pioneers in the middle of no wher
I've noticed the same thing on both counts. As far as the caravans go, in my games anyway I have noticed that there are certain cities they just won't interact with, but others they will. So I don't think there is a limit to the number of them you can have. There just seem to be some buggy cities. I've had some luck by actually training the caravan in the buggy city and sending it to another one, that works sometimes. I use them more for their ability to build
I agree with the comments that magic is a bit to easy to aquire. I want to have to put some thought into what order I research spells in and what I am willing to give up in order to get and use them. Right now I just go into the spell book and double click all the spells in the order they appear. Maybe the buildings and units and whatnot that give spell research oughta be in the area of 0.1 or 0.2 per turn rather than 1 or 2 per turn. Also, this might already e
Othertimes they don't.
I've noticed that the Book of Defense that I've gotten from some goodie huts and a quest says that it raises defense but it actually raises movement by 0.2. I apologise if somone has meantioned this already, I did a search and didn't come up with anything in the first couple pages of results.
Yeah, that was it. Thanks!
