[performance]video drops to 1fps during/after tactical combat

Hi all,

When tactical combat works (I'll create a seperate bug post about other problems I'm having with tactical combat shortly), frame rate drops from acceptable to about 1 fps for the duration of the tactical combat, and continues to do so after the tactical combat ends.

I'm running a Gateway 5056GT (64bit athlon X2 3800+ processor) and an Nvidia GForce 9800gt video card.  Running XP sp3 as my OS.

I can save the game and restart the application and frame rate is back to acceptable again.  This problem does not create a debug.err file.  DXDIAG output it here:

Let me know if I can provide any other useful details, thanks!

Really looking forward to this game!

I was having this issue as well using an older .18X version of nvidia drivers.  Went ahead and updated to the newest release and now I no longer have the 1 FPS after tactical battles issue.   Course the game still crashes every 30 turns =p

Was using Nvidia 9800 GTX

This happens to me too.  Crazy graphics afterwards as well as the low frame rate.

Nvidia 8600GT latest drivers, AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+, 4gb ram, windows xp sp3

Ooh, turning off advanced lighting fixed this.  Tactical battles work for me now.

Correction - turning off advanced lighting made the tactical battle work, but other graphics still got all crazy after the battle ended.

Ug, Double Correction - It seems its all just chance.  I know nothing for sure now.

I had to turn off advanced lighting or the 3d gfx (everything but the cloth map) was too blurry to use, same as many other bug reports already on this forum.  So my low frame rate was with advanced lighting already disabled.
