Ascian is god, specially with his maul ability. But yeah, I always end my game with a super army made up of my sov, 6-7 heroes, chances are I got another sov to surrender so I have him/her in too (So far only Kavarox or whatever the Kraxis one is surrenders to me) and as the cherry on top, a dragon. (Wish they were counted as champions). Last time I even had two dragons in my army, an ashwake and a storm one. They went first, each used fire breath, battle over. XD

Agreed, the diplomacy of the game seems lacking. Which is surprising, considering one of my favorite diplomacy implementations was that of GalCiv, where you could put things for the deal and compare, then you had to offer it, same went for war, you could hit the 'we declare war' and see the enemy look at you meanly, but unless you hit SEND, it was safe. :S

It says to keep it updated always... But I am not getting the update, nor achievements since yesterday. ... Hmm... at the bottom of my library, should that small button read OFFLINE MODE? As in 'click here for it'? Or I am offline? (Which would explain both problems) EDIT: Nevermind, I was in fact offline, which I do not even recall telling Steam to do.

I pronounce it as if it was some Egyptian Pharaoh. He-er-gamenon With the 'er' sounding like when you feel confused (Errh...) and the 'gamenon' as Agamemnon (to be fair, in spanish his name is lacking the extra M before the N) Also, you are welcome. :P

AHA, here it is: https://www.elementalgame.com/hiergamenon Enjoy it. (And still consider Destiny Embers. XD)

Say hello to the new problems, as annoying as the old ones, but different! XD EDIT: Little question here, I am new to this whole Steam game thing, I have LH in the library and currently playing it, but nowhere I see any prompt to update or check for one...

Pariden, love magic, and they have both the four books to learn the first level of each tree (And save on the sov creation for other stuff) and they also have the magic outpost, which is just SO useful when compared to having to protect squishy pioneers.

[quote who="halmal242" reply="2" id="3370021"] So as the earth has a circumference of about 25000 miles, and assuming the world of Elemental is about the same size for a normal world, you should be able to cross the entire map in about 13-16 seasons give or take due to terrain or roads. This seems a little low and I think I see the reasoning behind the immersion mods change to weeks but this might be too drastic and I would propose a change to months instead based upon these numbe

I agree with the above. I am currently trying LH on easy, and my only army is the standard sov and champs, the only defenses I have are a few archers on the border cities, and some bandits that have spawned from a recently taken border camp. And they all take a wage total of 30 gildar, and I am not even in mid game, I have 38 cities and just discovering unrest is a thing (YEAH... that was certainly unexpected. :P) So unless I rely on wageless troops like elementals, my income would dr

Dont larger maps have more wildlands by default? I get what you are going at, larger ones that actually feel like vast wastelands, but I also like to have many around dotting the world. Maybe have an option between large, few ones, and small, many ones. Or like just one of them gets really large and is the main wildland of the game map. As for the cut the world in half... while interesting, how would that go? A massive corridor wildland, or like the world is an

(Congrats on that marriage btw Illauna :P) The Hiergamenon has been so useless for so long, I get a good chuckle when the game suggests at the start to check it if you are lost. My dream for it has always being for it to be greatly expanded, and that each article has two parts, one that actually explains the point in question, and one that is some sort of lore short tale regarding that. Like say... fame has a little tale of how... Hosten was such a brill

It does what your cities do as their ZoC expands, it turns the dead lands into green/purple. If you use it somewhere far enough from existing cities, it MIGHT reveal tiles for cities, but it is not mandatory of it. I tend to use it beside forests and rivers and I have gotten many cities with it. Specially useful when there is a massive wasteland between my empire and the next one, so I use the spell near their border with a pioneer waiting, and if I get lucky, I get a beachhea

Commander, road making is priceless. Also, they are always with my sovereign to help in quests and fights, and tend to have over 5 wounds by the time they are strong enough to not die all the time. Then it just rolls from there. I am about to get another champion and its past my stack cap, so maybe I will send him to some city to reduce unrest. (First playthrough, was NOT expected that massive bump in unrest. And just now learned of the fortress special improvement.)

Dammit, I skipped Raza because while he was awesome, the other champion bet him. (And yes, he is gotten via fame) And Ascian is awesome, having him maul a dragon when said dragon is already surrounded by all your other champions? Priceless. EDIT: I got Ascian, yet that achievement did not activate? Did I do something wrong? I used the collar and is currently at my party. And its not even a case of steam not registering anything, I got othe

Actually, there IS a novel, Destiny Embers is literally a book made by Brad, Stardock's ceo. http://www.amazon.com/Elemental-Destinys-Embers-Bradley-Wardell/dp/0345517865/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372385397&sr=8-1&keywords=destiny+embers This however is not the backstory as much as

That one occurred to me on turn like... 50? I did not really check, but I recall I had four cities only, specially annoying because I had already got the Eclipse, and was currently north of my kingdom kicking Magnar's butt, then Kraxis on the south, and Gilden and a custom on the west came for me. (Luckily I expanded fast and locked Kraxis in their starting peninsula, and the city blocking was a fort. The other two were far enough to give me time to react. That, and the fact I was the mos

Regardless of your decision, be it to expand upon Elemental, make a new IP, make GalCivIII, or whatever, the one thing I always look for in empire building games, and rarely get is the feeling that my cities are not only glorified troop factories, like in Sword of the Stars, which is TOO focused on the war side, I want to build, just like in GalCiv and FE, I had the option to make war, but I was perfectly able to be peaceful and stay that way. (Sins was more war oriented, but I still

I think not? The Drota in the campaign were basically tribal dark skinned people from what I saw. (We did get a champion there did we not? The woman that guided Relias during the second map) Wildings are more like the good Darkling sibling, they are small and not so much tribal as primitive. And the Hiergamenon is not as lore intensive as one would like, especially the in game one, only the online one Brad linked the other day was, and it was more of a story rat

Wasn't there Darth villages in WoM as a resource? Or maybe I have been confusing them with the Drota guys... :S Yeah I know, even Tandis survives to help us in Gal Civ. Using tech and that could be simply ignored. Also, even if they were the high tech races we know, imagine that the time travel used to get to Elemental did not allow them to bring anything bu themselves, how would they go about rebuilding a civilization that advanced? I think it like the Thal

If the worry is that these mods are content correct rather than having weird stuff in the code itself, why not allow some sort of voting so the community can chose which gets approved? Then you look over those and moderate if needed. Sort of how in Spore bad submissions could be reported or down voted? Now, if the actual problem if fear for spy programs in mods and such, then I am at a loss. :S

Modding the Gal Civ races into Elemental, so all the galaxy fights for a sole planet! I have been thinking about this since I saw a picture at Societies website where it looked like they had all landed there to take over that planet, and at first I confused it with a teaser for WoM back then. :P So, am I talking nonsense, is that a good idea, or I am simply nuts? :D

Yes, he is trolling us, both with the LH thing and the little comment of how Anthys is the known world AS OF 150. I do hope SD gives us that map size to use too, looks awesome. Also, after so much mentioning of Civ maps, I want an Earth map here too. XD

-Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock. Will Rogers. But yes, diplomacy here is lacking, which is specially jarring since Gal Civ 2 had a much better one, so it is not a problem of Stardock having never gotten it right...

If made as a simple map that you chose then the factions locations would be randomized, but I think modders would rapidly make a scenario version with the factions where they should and wildlands correctly placed. Shouldn't be too hard... Just do not block city building and stuff, and have the goal be the same as normal gameplay. The only problem would be having to play as the same faction everytime, unless they made a version for each or something. :P
